King George Penthouse

This was my 2nd stay at this property, this time a week with small children last time was a weekend with friends. The location is great with a massive park in the next road, 2 shops downstairs and a pub across the road. It’s a good 10 minute walk to the high street and seafront but in a nice quiet area.

When we arrived the highchair and cot we had requested were nowhere to be found and as it was late Friday afternoon we had very little time to contact the property. Eventually located them by contacting the housekeeper direct rather than the property company. We had another problem with the rubbish as the big bins in the car park were completely full, apparently some problem with the local council but the car park area was a total mess and the security gate wasn’t working.

Very spacious and comfortable. Very upmarket facilities. Liked the outdoor balconies, the view across to Orford Ness was great. The location was very handy to be able to walk into town. The 2 supermarkets and a pub within 2 mins walk was useful. Very quiet area. Went to Snape Maltings which was a few miles up the road from us. Tried several restaurants in the High St all of which were very good.

The weather could have been better! In true British fashion it went from 26C on day one down to a wet and windy 12C mid-week and back up to 30C on last day! While the parking space is roomy enough, getting in and out of it is tricky. It is the last in the row, hard up against the wall, but with very little space in front to manoeuvre in. We have a RAV4, so not a small car but if the space alongside is occupied, it is very tight. It was good for us, but effectively 4 flights of stairs up to the apartment is a workout!

Parking for large cars in bay 5 was difficult if all spaces were taken

Great location, walking distance to Aldeburgh seafront and town. Located near convenience stores which was great for our family. Everything we needed close to hand. Well equipped, comfortable apartment.

It was great. No complaints, we will stay again
