Needing accommodation before an unsociable, early start at work I chose this place because of its close proximity to my job and because it was described as “pleasant” on here. Before arriving, I was given the code to a key safe to access the key for my requested quiet room on the top floor. (My request for a quiet upper floor room was made because an historical head injury makes me a very light sleeper). There was no key. I shared many calls with an Indian translator who was spokesperson for the anonymous management. The key could not be traced and it was claimed that (illegally) there was no spare. I was forced to move to a ground floor room near the property front door adjacent to a common area kitchen and all my fears came true as I was woken by every guest coming and going at all times. This included a guest arriving at about 2:00am conversing loudly on his phone using its speaker. He went to the kitchen and started making food and left it all cooking with the loud extractor fan on and the door open. Eventually I got out my lumpy bed to ask that he close the door at least. Misfortune like this can happen but, more worryingly, this place is not pleasant. It is a dirty dump. I found used toilet roll in my room which was in quite bad disrepair and did not even have a lampshade on the main light. I was warned that £200 would be taken from my account if I damaged anything. This just made me laugh as everything in the room was damaged anyway. Please be warned, this place is not “pleasant”. It is a very very basic doss house that has 6 rooms sharing just two shower / ex rooms. Have a look at my pictures to make up your own minds.

It’s hard to know where to begin with this property. I guess it’s more of a reflection of the state of the market than booking.com. The fact that what can only be described as the worst place on earth is being advertised on here is a question for the ages. And I suppose it depends on what your standards are. If you like your bedsheets unwashed and only sprayed with fabreze then you’re gonna love it here. I actually don’t have much of a problem with the place or people behind these sort of properties, it’s more like despair that it’s become normal to pay £50 for somewhere which is really just one star above sleeping in a skip.

Not fit for a dog

Nothing. It was dirty and smelt disgusting. The internet did NOT work. It was so bad I was unwilling to stay. I told the land lord who told me he would refund BUT has since refused

Dirty - Very dirty! I didnt shower because I feel I would have come out dirtier than I went in. The toilet seat was broken. There was clear evidence of a previous break in yo my room which made me feel very unsafe. The deluxe window wouldn't close and had no blinds or curtains. If it had rained in the night I would have got wet. There was a strong smell of urine in the room.

The owners ignore all messages and contact by phone making anything impossible to communicate. Shocking service, just money grabbing and no care for guests. Terrible service.

Terrible experience

There wasn't anything to like about my experience, very bad a place I would not ever return to again.

No staff to assist with Key's I had to call in at the corner shop which is next door for help as I wasn't sure if the property might belong to the man but it didn't it took me half an hour to receive by message with the information about what the key code is again absolutely no staff to be seen. There was no bottles of water in the room or a kettle and cups, no phone to ring for assistance, no hair dryer, the walls were not clean and the room could have done with being hoovered. You had to share bathroom with other people. It wasn't quiet throughout the night. Never again!!! Simply awful The picture I've included of outside is the little shop on the corner of the building I was stopping at right next door to it the shop keeper was helpful. Unlike the owners of the place I was staying at.

Value for money - it's a room in a house. Great for if you just want somewhere to sleep for a night/

The house/room was freshly decorated, it was a short walk to the city centre, the bathroom (while a shared one in a house) was clean

The room smelled like stale cigarettes and BO - that inground smell you get after years of someone smoking in a house - wasn't overpowering but definitely noticeable. Didn't bother me too much but may be worth considering bringing an air freshner for your stay. No staff at the house at all that I know of - one bedroom door was propped open so maybe that was a caretaker? But didn't see anyone but other guests when I checked in/checked out. I had no issues but feel if something had gone wrong, I'd be stuck with only Booking.com's messaging system to use.

Nice room with a comfortable bed. But no table beside the bed and no bin for the garbage. 2 bathrooms on the second floor, none of them had a mirror! Nice kitchen with all that you need. Not even the bathrooms had bins for garbage
