Good if you're on a budget

Reasonably priced one night stay, close to Skyline bus route

Booking.com themselves gave me a "PIN" with my booking number - I was misled to believe this could be the PIN number for the key box. Obviously it was only from a message, that I was given the right number. When I needed to call the property owner for clarification of this, they didn't answer the phone. This caused a short delay to my evening plans. Shower was also not in a clean state, when I arrived. Bathroom did not seem well looked after. Room came with a plug-in bedside lamp, but its bulb was not working - made getting to bed slightly more awkward. Bed was not the most comfortable, but thankfully didn't cause me any injury.

Happy.

Designed for labourers who do not carry a lot of equipment. A small attic room in an older house. Facilities easily accessible if you write down the information beforehand. The nearest wifi is, in the early evening, Costa Coffee in Castle Marina. Very amiable group of colleagues rent the building. Highly recommended to be used for what it is designed for, and acceptably designed.

Accessing the information from booking.com took six devices due to trouble with local wifi.

Unbeatable value if you want a nice day out within easy walking distance.

Great little budget place. The accommodation is fairly basic but the area has everything within a short walk, Castle Marina Retail Park Caste Marina Nottingham Castle and The Robin Hood statue The Park Estate (gated but you can walk or cycle through) On your doorstep (literally) is a little Tesco Cornerstone Church A gym Waters Edge family pub/restaurant next the the Marina, 10 min walk. Dott scooters and lime bikes The room was basic but clean and quiet with a bathroom next door. Kitchen was clean. Check in was easy with a key box at the front door.

Some might struggle with the stairs to the top floor, quite steep and narrow.

You get what you pay for but would not return

The location was decent it was cheap and it was a quiet location. Check out was simple enough. Good amount of storage space. The staff member I spoke too did help me check in relatively quickly which was good.

Check in was a nightmare never got given a code to unlock the lockboxes a room hadn’t even been assigned to me by the time I got to the property to check in. The bed was uncomfortable and very creaky the pillows were flat. The description said there would be a tv and private bathroom in my room which was not the case at all. It was extremely cold all night the duvet was super thin. The mirrors were filthy dirty with so many stains on it. No smoke alarms in the room. The bedroom door did not feel that secure at all. The stairs were like a death trap and should have been mentioned in the description did not help that the banisters for the stairs to the attic were painted to the wall so the grip was harder and only one banister to try and get round the corners of all the super steep stairs (not great for someone who may have issues) ended up having to hold onto the wall and ceiling to help me up and down the stairs. I guess you get what you pay for but would expect better.

Disappointing waste of money

I appreciated the fact that there was a bed and lighting (although the lamp in the room didn’t work). The WiFi worked fine. The lock box access was also okay, although prior to check-in, I had to call the property manager to send the check-in information as, apparently, they couldn’t see my booking initially.

I didn’t appreciate the lack of heating at the property which was only communicated to me at 9:30pm when I couldn’t safely leave the area. There was also a draft coming in from the window which made it extra cold. When I messaged the property manager, he called to say there was nothing that could be done. Thereafter, he didn’t respond to any of my correspondence. I also didn’t appreciate the misrepresentation that there would be a private bathroom only to see a filthy shared bathroom with pubic hair, dirt and mould. The two flights of stairs were also extremely steep (which could be a safety concern for less mobile guests), and there were people coming in and out until after 10pm which was quite disruptive. The floor was dirty in the room and the bed had hairs on it.

Bad experience

I arrived in the building at: 10:40 I stood there till 1:30 no one was there I was knocking and pressing the bell nobody answered to the extent that I asked your neighbour you left me stranded standing there. I called several times no answer and please refund my money since you refuse to give me a place that's what you showed on the app thank you.

Quiet, convenient, and the price was right! I'd stay again.

The communication with the property owners/managers was excellent. Quick responses, I got my lock box code and had no problems getting my key. Just note that they don't send you the info automatically, you have to get a hold of them first. My stay was quiet and the property is located really close to a convenient bus stop making it easy to get around. The rooms aren't fancy, but it was clean and the bed was plenty comfortable, so no issues! Towels were als provided.

The accommodation was basic which matched the price but the lack of hot water for a shower was something you expect. The bed was really poor and I did not sleep at all. No sleep and no shower. I might as well have slept on the bench outside!

Nottingham Trip

The location and the low cost.

Despite the low cost, this place somehow still failed to meet expectations. The upstairs shower had no hot water (I tried extensively), I asked the owner to fix it and they did not. The bed was extremely squeaky. Either the lamp or one of the outlets don’t work (I didn’t care enough to check which one). The front door to the main house does not automatically lock so you either lock the front door (which needs a key to be unlocked FROM THE INSIDE) creating a big fire safety hazard, or leave the door open and let people walk into the building. The kitchen utensils were extremely limited. The chair inside the room was not comfortable. Also the front door key and the room key look identical so it is impossible to tell them apart so I had to keep guessing which was which, that was annoying. I appreciate the cost was low but the quality of the accommodation overall is extremely poor, and this is coming from someone who grew up in a working class family and really is not that fussy.

Very basic but also cheap.

You get what you pay for and this was reasonably priced and well located for my purpose.

Upstairs shower had no heat, cooker did not work, coursely woven sheet had two hairs in it (yuck) and the radiator repeatedly made noises I think from the boiler. Turning it off made no difference.

Satisfactory single night stay

It was tidy, spacious and served it's purpose. Location is great with supermarkets and bus stops close, with great location for travelling to the city centre and university. The kitchen and bathroom were clean enough and the bedroom was too. Bed was comfortable and the heating was on so the temperature was alright (after I had the window open). WiFi was good. The area was really quiet and seemed safe. The bedroom door has a lock on it which was good. This place is good money for value and was great for a single night stay. I was only emailed the code for check in a bit over 5 hours before, however this was not an issue for me as it was easy to find in a reply for a previous email. Overall, safe stay for a young female solo traveller

The kitchen sink handle was a bit broken so washing up was a little difficult, although managable. The downstairs had a bit of an artificial smell although not bad. The living room seats faced eachother so communal areas were a bit awkward, although not bad. Cutlery was a bit hidden in a utensil holder in the corner rather than the cutlery drawer. Fridge was working although the light was broken in there, but it didn't cause an issue.
