The Monsal

We stayed just for night as we were attending an event at Chatsworth - a great location for that as only a 15 minute drive. The room was exactly as appeared online, and the service from staff was great. The bar was lovely, and had a lovely outdoor space to sit in. Wonderful views over the monsal trail.

We could hear the people in the room next to us talking, and we were next to the door to the corridor which was squeaky. It didn't impact us much as luckily the door wasn't heavily used during the night, and the people next door weren't up too late.

Excellent location with a breathtaking view. Short walk down to the Monsal Trail, and the Monsal Weir/Waterfall, close to beautiful Bakewell. Stayed in the three bedded bunk room, which was perfect for myself and my children. Spotlessly clean room, really comfortable beds, nice toiletries, great assortment of tea, coffee & biscuits, welcoming, attentive and lovely staff and great eating facilities, including the Canteen for breakfast and the Stable for evening meal.

Beautiful hotel with amazing access to Monsal Dale. The onsite food options are brilliant and very tasty. We particularly loved the breakfast skillet at the Canteen and the sticky toffee pudding at the Stables. The rooms were lovely and cozy with comfy beds. We also can't speak highly enough of the staff. One of our party was feeling unwell so we asked that the room be left undisturbed whilst they slept. The staff left extra towels and a note in the second room to ensure we had everything needed. All around a lovely experience in the most beautiful location.

Zero complaints! We visited over the blazing hot May bank holiday and expected the rooms to be stifling. However, the rooms stayed lovely and cool despite the high temps. Will definitely be back.

A fantastic location, a cosy stables bar. Nice breakfast, friendly and enthusiastic staff.

A very cramped, bunk bedded plus pull out bed, room. Toilet door that wouldn’t close fully, shower separated from bedroom by a curtain.
