Food portions were a little small

Brilliant stay and the facilities exceeded our expectations based on others we have booked in the area at similar price points. The location is perfect and just what we needed as a base for our weekend walking and the evening bar and restaurant was perfect with the fire. Will be booking again for sure. Perhaps a rug in the rooms on the hard floors to soften the aesthetics . But understand commercially the cleaning / replacement of these can be inequitable for a business.

Real old world charm but sympathetically renovated with modern comforts. Great food and exceptionally pleasant staff. Comfortable bed and a lovely view of Old Glossop church from our room. Walking distance of the town centre and walks in the countryside.

How clean and quaint it was.

Pillows were hard and unfortunate for me I had quiz night and I could hear them over the microphone up to 23:15hrs. TV was in the most awkward of places making viewing for one person laying on the bed (no chairs to sit on as the room was just enough for the bed) not great Also, meals and breakfast were in another pub 100 metres down the hill.
