Quiet location with many walks of different levels from the doorstep, for us, we found it was within walking distance of all amenities. We spent a lot of the stay exploring the surrounding area on foot including Matlock and Matlock Bath. The cottage was warm and homely with everything we needed for our stay, very comfortable bed, we felt relaxed and recharged after our 3 night stay.

Very sweet cottage in a lovely spot. Clean and comfortable. Lovely walks especially to the pub over the hill!
A cloth for kitchen surfaces and a drying up towel would be very helpful! The road to the house may be tricky for some vehicles and a warning about the road closure would have been handy!

Lovely location - close to walking spots, nice pubs and Matlock town.
Very clean and everything well maintained. Parking available.
Excellent, communicative hosts.

Lovely location, easy parking, close to Matlock centre, very clean, nice fresh bedding and towels, very homely.
The shower was a bit tricky to use, so we did give up on it, and one of the small beds was squeaky when you moved at night, which wasn't great for sleep but having said that it didn't spoil our short stay.

Very beautiful area, views and walks. The cottage was lovely, comfortable beds. Decorated well. Spotlessly clean..
The amenities were quite basic. No microwave, no hairdryer, only 3 wine glasses. It was a bit rainy while we were there and there were no books or games which you would usually find in a holiday cottage. Quite difficult to find as it was along a private road which we were not aware of.

It was a self-catering and no breakfast was provided but we knew that. It took a while to find the cottage as the door wasn't facing the path. Once we were there, we loved it!

Lovely little cottage in a perfect location. Clean and nicely decorated.
Neighbours were residents and didn’t seem happy that the cottage was a holiday let. No clear instruction on whose bin was who’s. Only minor issue and didn’t impact holiday.

Very nice stay, ideal pet friendly cottage for a short break. 5 minutes drive into matlock. Plenty of scenic walks in all directions.

Location was what we expected which is why we booked it. Very peaceful, good spot to visit the local area
Low ceilings, had to be careful in bathroom and bedroom

Clean cosy and very comfortable. The double bed was amazingly comfy!! And the bed linen smelt fresh!! Was homely and we did put the heating on last night but we had to turn it off after an hour because it was too warm so heating was excellent if planning on staying in the colder weathers 😊 Lovely views and the lake with the waterfall was amazing!!
Nothing we didn't like.....a suggestion of possibly black out curtains in the bedrooms. Other than that we couldn't fault our stay. Maybe seek further instructions on how to find the property as we did go around in a circle at one point and it was difficult to find at first.
**Note to owners** we did have the front door open a few times in the morning yesterday and Friday evening when we arrived and the dog from one of the neighbors did enter the house which we didn't mind but it did this each time we opened the door so we did have to close the door. Just a note for anyone staying who may not like dogs or have small children who may not like them. The owner of the dog was lovely but just made us very weary of having the door open while we were pottering around downstairs/sitting outside. One of the dogs was quite a big dog and although it seemed friendly we were very cautious because we had our 8 year old son with us

The cottage was lovely, situation was lovely too
Sat nav nor Google recognise the private road where the cottage was. Perhaps what 3 words might be clearer.

We loved the location. The cottage is quite far from the centre but we enjoyed the peace and quiet there. There's a little pond right beside the cottage and pretty waterfall within a couple of minutes walk. For those who like some local beer we would recommend a bit longer walk to the local brewery.
We liked the decor, neutral in style with some rustic elements.
The cottage was very clean and the check in very easy.
The front garden with some furniture was also a nice place to enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine.
We found it hard to find the cottage as the navigation takes you to the other address and we only found it thanks to some friendly local.
The biggest issue was the fridge which unfortunately didn't work almost at all. We had to freeze water in plastic bottles and put them inside to maintain the temperature.
The equipment in the kitchen could be better, very basic crockery, no microwave and no washing rack despite the cottage having the washing machine. Fortunately we had a bit of a rope and were able to build our own washing line. Also no hairdryer.
I think with these improvements the cottage would be really charming and great place to stay.

Perfect location! The cottage was very pretty and well modernised. Rooms were all attractive.
It was quite cold at some points. The kitchen equipment was a little lacking. No oven proof dishes, no cloths, only 1 teatowel. There was no dishwasher which was okay with us, but when we washed up there was no drainer and nowhere to put wet cutlery.

Amazing idyllic location near waterfall. Semi surfaced 20min route across fields to superb pub in Tansley (see pics). Very clean and lovely decor. Comfy beds and amazing quiet setting. Bijou but very much good value for money.
Accommodation was very cleverly arranged to make best use of space, but small extras to enhance the experience could include a full length mirror (free standing if easier) and one of those small fold out bistro tables for putting your drinks on in the lounge. The low beams are well documented in reviews but did not bother us as we are short and once you have them on your radar you tend to get more use to them anyway.

The cottage and the area are beautiful. It's a perfect spot , as we visit our family who live in Darly Dale, so we enjoy coming to visit twice a year. So the cottage was ideal for us and our dog Archie.
We've booked to stay again in February.
We feel it could do with a few extras, mainly in the kitchen.
microwave, coffee percolator, dish cloth.
The fridge isn't cold enough.
Also, a hoover, just so we could clean up after our dog.

Modern decor and comfortable furnishings. Location excellent for local walk with views of pool and falls.
Missing plug in kitchen sink - though rectified quickly. Would have been nice to have had use of a microwave. Low beams upstairs were a worry but avoidable with care.

Pretty cottage in a quiet, rural location.
Beautifully decorated with comfortable sofas and beds - slept really well. Lovely big main bedroom.
Arrived on a cold afternoon and it was so cosy and warm when we walked in.
The cottage is pretty small. Beware, if you are tall, the beams are fairly low, especially in the bathroom.
The second bedroom, with twin beds, is a very tight fit. Didn’t matter to us as we were only 2 people.
My pet hate in any accommodation is providing lots of hanging space and not enough clothes hangers. Only 5 😟. Not enough in a cottage for 4 people.
The kitchen has no microwave.

Very cute and comfortable
My husband says it’s not suitable for very tall people 😂
