Primrose Cottage

Amazing location and charming little cottage. Hosts were responsive to queries. Comfortable beds apart from one of the single beds was a bit too soft and bed frame was very squeaky.

A bit tired, needs a bit of maintenance and redecoration in areas. Banister loose (my Dad had to repair it as dangerous). Broken blind still broken in kitchen, despite being mentioned in a review 2 years ago. Various other little jobs and updates needed. Low beam over bath makes bathing and showering a little precarious for older people. But appreciate this would not be able to be moved and ads to the charm of the cottage. WiFi code incorrect on welcome pack. Check the back of the router for correct code. Could not get TV apps to work, only has free view TV.

The location is idyllic and the cottage is meticulously clean and comfortably furnished

Difficult to find using sat nav. We ended up in some poor neighbour’s back garden!

It was so quiet, calm and was exactly what I needed after the day to day stresses of life. The location is remote and between ponds and a waterfall. I loved it. The ceiling, doors and beams being so low made us feel like the house was made for us, it was also hilarious and my friend bumped her head in the shower but made us feel tall (low beams is in the description so not a negative for us). I wish I could have stayed forever.

That I couldn't stay longer and it wasn't my house. I loved it.

Not straight forward to find, sat nav took you to the area but no clear directions included so was tricky to find as further down the track a bit difficult to find. Rubbish overspilling from the bins upon arrival not a good look and unkempt garden area shared with other cottages, residents did not appear pleased to see us and felt a bit unwelcoming. Musty smell upon entering presumably due to no air or windows being open between guests. No instructions on how to use the heating/hot water although have to say when we contacted to ask received a quick response sbd was helpful. Kitchen very basic and cottage not as clean as is could be. Light switches cupboards and other high touch areas should have been cleaner lots of ingrained dirt. No microwave, freezer or iron and board. Bathroom dirty ingrained dirt and mould around it and sink plug congealed with hair and dirt, very disappointing. Stair rail lose. A real shame as a beautiful cottage with some nice touches but needs thorough cleaning and attention to detail.
