Wonderful to catch up with the family and to be together under one roof.

It was central, close to shops an restaurant and places to visit, Cosy and well equipped.

Lovely base for family stay in Matlock

Lovely cottage, clean and pleasantly decorated. Kitchen was well-equipped with a good-sized dining table . Excellent location great for both Matlock and Matlock bath, Heights of Abraham and Tram Museum easily accessible.

Parking! Given the cottage sleeps 8, we would have expected at least two spaces. The Artist's View car park is indeed very accessible, but also very expensive £15 to park for the duration of our stay, given that we came in four cars, that amounted to an additional £45 for the weekend. This was not made clear at the time of booking. It was impossible to open the window in the main bedroom, consequently very hot overnight. Finally, the list of facilities included body soap, there was none in either of the bathrooms and only two, half empty bottles of hand soap.

Family getaway

Brilliant communication with owner. Very comfortable beds, lovely clean house, kitchen and bathrooms. Onsite parking. Walkable to Matlock in minutes, 5 minute drive to Matlock Bath and local attractions.

Road a bit noisy in the front bedrooms.

A very enjoyable stay for myself and my family.

The house was very clean and had everything we needed. It was in a prime walking distance to Matlock and Matlock baths. The host was very accomodating too. An overall very good stay.

Very clean and comfortable cottage in a great location - definitely 10/10!

A cosy house in a perfect location. The cottage and parking were easy to find and easy to access, Jo the host let us know everything we needed to know in good time and when we had a question was helpful and responsive. The travel cot requested was ready to go and the property comfortably housed our whole family, 6 adults and two children for the whole stay. We didn’t bring a pet, so thought as it was pet friendly it might be a bit “doggy”, but it was beautifully clean and fresh and if I did own a dog, it would have been happy there too! Overall a wonderful stay, just a few minutes walk into Matlock where we found some great cafes and bars and close to lots of beautiful places to visit. Thanks for having us!

Both bathrooms are located on the middle floor of the property so the upstairs bedrooms had to come downstairs to use them (although this didn’t cause any issue at all, it’s worth noting).

Cosy comfortable house perfectly located for what we needed

Property was so comfortable and homely. We settled in straight away. Everything you need is there and it’s a perfect location for both Matlock and Matlock Bath. We had a really lovely time.

We were very disappointed and will not return unless the issues are fixed.

We were able to check in early which was really helpful. The parking for one car was easy to access. The TV is huge and very good quality. The location was great for the town centre and bus stops to other towns were close by.

The beds are so uncomfortable and need replacing. The pillows are very poor quality. The living room window appears to be painted shut. It could not be opened. The washing machine door catch is about to break off. There were spiders and cobwebs in the kitchen cupboards. We had to get help by phone to get the cooker to work. We expected a lot more from this expensive property. A pint of milk would have been welcome.

It was a lovely house clean and tidy

It was for 8 people the bedrooms were nice but it was very small down stairs to sit 8 people and the table would not extend so eating meals was very cramped

We had a very pleasant stay but felt a bit more attention to detail would have made our stay better

Location was excellent

Some of the facilities were a little below comfortable Loo seat in main bathroom loose, Shower over the bath had no slip mate or hand rail to help with access, Brocken glass outside under the patio table and dog ends left, Fridge could have benefitted from being wiped out between client and a wine bottle opener only had one arm so couldn't open anything with a cork in, Hand towel rail in downstairs toilet coming away from the wall.
