The location is perfect. Close to train, bus and the walks starting from central Matlock. Place kept cool during hot days. We had 3 adults staying and it was just enough space for us. Old cottage feel with beams and fireplace.
Victorian town has old houses, that will come with some old house traits. We weren’t too bothered, but first walk in you do have a bit musty scent. Like said, expect this with older property close to river. Backyard/ terrace we did not use, it seemed to Bea more of neighbours storage space.

A lovely cottage, very well equipped very central to town centre
It wasn’t a big problem but not having a garden to let the dogs out 1st thing in the morning and last thing at night was a bit of a drawback but there was a park nearby so no big problem

Poppy cottage is in a great location. The property is very clean throughout with everything you could need to make your stay relaxing and enjoyable. We would definatly recommend.
There was nothing we did not like but a word of warning if anyone with mobility issues the stairs to upstairs are quite steep.
