We had a pleasant stay and enjoyed chilling in the house after some beautiful hikes.
The house is beautiful and has everything you might need. Everything is clean and comfortable. The house is a short walk from town on quiet road. A perfect base for lots of lovely walks.
We would not have minded a couple more books to read as there were only two. The only issue we had with the location is the extremely steep hill the house is located on.

The parking situation isn't the best but easy enough to get a place on the road near the house in the evening. The hosts were open and honest that there is no parking option with the house.

The house was wonderfully clean- spotless! Great modern furniture which all looked brand new. Very comfy beds. Good size rooms. Easy instructions for rubbish etc. easy access with key although lockbox cover was a bit fiddly. Easy to park up the road. Great view down into the town.
Bin in main bathroom would be nice, and in bedrooms. Maybe a mirror in small single room. More hooks to hang things in bathrooms.

Excellent in every way and would 100% recommend the accommodation.
Beautifully decorated accommodation with everything you needed. It was lovely to arrive and find milk in the fridge, tea and coffee and a welcoming bottle of wine. The hosts kindly allowed access to the accommodation early which was greatly appreciated as we were travelling with my 85 year old Mum. Couldn’t fault the accommodation or hosts - everything was perfect.
Just be aware that the house is at the top of a very steep hill - this didn’t deflect from a lovely stay; it just meant we had to drive to the centre as our Mum couldn’t manage the hill. For most, this really isn’t an issue.

What a gem.
Absolutely lovely property, bigger than it looks and so comfortable. No allocated parking as specified but the parking is 8am-6pm for 1 hour (no return etc) Monday to Friday - so we simply parked outside to unload, popped the car round the corner then moved it back for the weekend. We’d absolutely stay again - great location, very comfortable beds and a friendly area with a beautiful view just round the corner and down to the centre of Matlock. We’ll be back.

Was clean and lovely furnishings, loved and well looked after.
It wasn’t a dislike, I just wasn’t ready for the hill to it was on, but I would most definitely stay again there and it helped me get my steps in.
