Really comfortable cottage, would recommend.

Exceptionally clean cottage. Very comfortable furnishings. Heating left on so was lovely and cosy when we arrived, even though it was a cold January evening. Good information about cottage and surroundings left by host-printout directions for local walks were particularly helpful.

The driveway is steep and not well signposted-took us a few passes to find the cottage, and a clear sign by the entrance would help if guests are arriving at night in particular.

It was very welcoming, warm, bright and very clean. Large bed was super comfortable. Good comfortable furniture in the lounge and good furnishings throughout. Lots of Information about the area provided

Shower cubicle was cramped and would have benefitted from a shelf for toiletries. Property is close to the centre but the steep hill climb back was off putting but otherwise good location for wider areas.

Comfortable and quiet

The drive way although we drove in once in the parking space getting out we had to wait for next door to move the car to be able to turnaround, street parking was available 2 min walk on side street so would have parked here. Cellar bedroom EPA’s lovely and fine fir us but I book cottages for people though work and this nir being known to have bedrooms two floors apart would have been a problem but fir our stay was fine.

The cottage was tastefully decorated, retaining original features but modern aswell. It felt really cosy and was so inviting with the pretty lights in the lounge after a wet visit to Chatsworth House! Communication and info about things to do in the area was excellent from Jo.

Cosy little cottage that's close to local amenities, car advised if you don't like hills!

Lock Box on the front of the property so access was easy. Drive is definitely tight, you need to reverse up, we have a large SUV and managed ok. Cottage was lovely and cosy, sofa's could do with replacing though. Beds were comfy, a little soft for my sister but she still slept well after our walks!! Pillows weren't to our liking either but you can't please everyone. The owner was great in communication, overall we would stay there again.

A real gem of a cottage.

Jewel Cottage was a real gem of a find. The cottage had a lovely homely feel to it and exuded cosiness. You can tell that the owners are extremely proud of their Cottage and it was immaculately clean and maintained. It is a 10 minute walk from the town centre and the shops. The local attractions, heights of Abraham, Haddon house, Bakewell and chatsworth house are all within a short drive from the cottage. We had a lovely two days here and would highly recommend it.

The jewel cottage... definitely a gem of a place! The furnishings make it a cosy home from home stay with all the facilities and more than you could need! The beds are amazing, super comfortable and a definite added bonus after a busy day exploring the surrounding areas. Parking off the road which was an added bonus. The communication from Jo was exceptional and very informative. Would definitely recommend 1000% staying here.

Absolutely brilliant

This was a lovely cottage really well turned out, accessible to everything with beautiful decor. I would recommend to anyone as a very good quality product. One single draw back being the step into the bathroom which requires better signage for the visually impaired. This is a credit to the owners at least 4.9 out of five. Well done.

It had everything we needed, was clean and very comfortable. It was very close to the town and therefore the train station (even if it was at the top of a huge hill!)

Not sure if it was something we did but the water in the shower kept turning hot and then very cold.

would have been good to have information about buses from the centre would have been good to know in advance that it was a long steep climb from the station (particularly hard with suitcases!) some people would want warning about the steep staircases and that one (lovely) bedroom was in the "cellar" and two flights from the bathroom

Comfortable beds, beautifully equipped and furnished, lovely outdoor patio

The shower was powerful but alternated between extremes of hot and cold without warning. The fridge was very low - at floor level so that access was not easy. Unfortunately, there was a very noisy party in the pub extension at the back on the Saturday night.

Ideal location, near pubs and shops. Property was nice and clean and the host was excellent.

The only downside was the very steep hill it’s on but this is mentioned in the listing. We just didn’t appreciate how steep it would be and the parking is tight.

A lovely little cottage, everything you need in a great location!

The property is in a great location, close to all shops which are at the bottom of the hill. The cottage was lovely and clean and very comfortable. It was very peaceful and quiet and had a good nights sleep. The owner is very accommodating and very kindly put up a banner for our arrival for my daughter’s birthday, thank you!

We stayed in the bedroom in the cellar which was lovely and cosy, just a bit of a task in the night to go to the bathroom on the top floor. Stairs down to this bedroom are a little steep and not carpeted.

We both loved it .

The inside of the property is perfect. Loved the decor and it was very welcoming when you entered. The only thing I would look at is the eating area outside. They have planters with dead flowers and that would’ve been perfect with bright coloured flowers in them. Also maybe some twinkling lights to put on at night for sitting out there.

Lovely weekend cottage

The cottage was cosy and well equipped. We loved the log fire and the sumptuous beds.

One of the bedrooms was in the basement. However, the couple that slept in that bedroom were more than happy. It was a lovely room with a comfortable bed.
