Spacious 4 Bedroom Maisonette in Central Matlock with River Views & Wi-Fi

We loved most things about the place. We enjoyed staying there. The place is spacious and comfortable.

The upstairs bathroom doesn't lock. The frying pans are really a health hazard. You must throw them away.

The house itself is lovely, very big. Spacious rooms. There were 8 of us, 6 adults, one 5 year old and a baby of 5 weeks. There was plenty of room for all of us. The bedrooms were comfortable, the lounge very big with plenty of comfy seating and a big TV with wifi. The kitchen is big with great cooking facilities, not that we did much. We were only there for the weekend. There is a dining room next to the kitchen. I couldn't fault the house. The only drawback was getting into it. The buildings on this side of the road are built into the side of a hill descending into the river valley. We had to go down a path/alley almost to river level, turn left and walk a few yards past the outside space of a winebar (a very tasteful winebar), then up 4 flights of a fire escape to the door of the house. We had to carry the baby up in her mothers arms, while 2 people carried the pram up Having said that it was a very nice location. The sight and sounds of the river bubbling away was lovely. From the back windows we could see the hills opposite. Round the corner is a lovely big park, with tennis courts, skateboard area, childrens play park with water play area, a boating lake, a miniature train giving rides, a bouncy castle, cafe selling food and drinks, an ice-cream kiosk, plenty of benches, well-kept garden areas. We all had a great weekend at the House on the Bank.
