Peaceful little abode in the Welsh mountains

Homely & fully stocked stay, though heating and hot water system could be improved in colder months

The host had excellent organisation and communication skills. Communication was made as soon as the booking was made and once again closer to the day, which made my planning easier. They were incredibly prompt to respond to the changes in the arrival time and they were easy to get in contact with if we had needed, which was further reassuring. Host also ensured there were enough firewood for our stay. The home is in a great location- around 30 mins car journey to llanberis path. The surrounding mountains are beautiful to look at. The rooms were spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The decor, extra cushions, extra throw towels, the snacks on the microwave, fully stocked kitchen (both equipment and cupboard food items) made it extremely homely. It is apparent that the host genuinely cares about our stay. The bedroom was nice and cosy with black out curtains.

We visited in late autumn so the cold weather definitely influenced our experience. I imagine this wouldn’t be an issue during spring or summer. It would have been nice if the heating and hot water had been switched on before our arrival, especially after a long, cold journey. The house was extremely cold when we arrived and it took a few hours for the downstairs rooms, hallway and hot water to warm up. The property uses a hot water tank system, and due to the freezing temperatures, the hot water ran out after about five minutes. The electric shower also intermittently switched to cold water for around 10 seconds every 40 to 50 seconds, which wasn’t ideal. We had to wait about 45 minutes to an hour for the tank to re-heat. This made it a bit difficult to manage for a group and slightly delayed our plans . The kitchen floor was also quite cold even with the heater on. Some additional insulation such as kitchen mats or a door separating the kitchen and living room would really help. Since the bathroom is located at the end of the kitchen, the kitchen wasn’t the most pleasant to pass through. That said, the place itself was genuinely homely and I would still definitely recommend staying here!

Cosy, truly dog-friendly and a safe haven on wet days.

This was the comfiest bed we've slept in while on holiday in more than 20 years :-) You do have to be pretty slender to sleep on the left hand side of it as the main room is quite narrow. And this is a GENUINELY dog-friendly place with none of those 'keep them in a cage in the kitchen' instructions. We felt very relaxed there. Bathroom is downstairs so if you have mobility issues and need to get up in the night you might not want to stay here but it is a truly lovely little cottage and there are two good footpaths nearby for walking dogs. But in all, a lovely place, snug and cozy with the fire and with plenty of kitchen space and all the facilities you could want. Highly recommended.

The hand mixer in the kitchen appears to be missing its beaters; maybe we just couldn't find them? Be aware that the bath taps are a different way round from the sink taps if you are running a bath or you'll get a cold one. And I would recommend a light over the front door as I missed my footing and fell taking the dogs out in the dark on the first night as I hadn't registered the small step on the path. But these are all very minor points.

This is totally our personal experience and might not be applicable to everyone! We were ok to stay for 3 nights but we will not stay in that accommodation again. Kitchen is well equipped and the location of this home is beautiful. As soon you come out of the property it feels fresh and you can hear the waterfall near by.

We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children(11 & 15). So this place was not the correct choice for us as the kids room had a bunk bed and neither of them were comfortable in the space. We were there during April 3rd week, it was still a bit wet and cold, kids room radiator was not working so had to move the one in the living room to the bedroom upstairs. External radiator in kitchen area was also not working/heating. Adults room was good but I wonder if people actually stayed and used the room for themselves when they designed it. Had our own discomforts. Bathroom in this accommodation is only on the ground floor and way back in the property. No washroom upstairs. So, if you wake up middle of the night to use the restroom you have to go downstairs and all the way back feeling cold in the middle of the night. TV works but you should log into your own Netflix account unlike what is mentioned in the specs.
