Good base for visiting and enjoying Snowdonia

Charming little place with a hidden bedroom at the loft, excellent for little kids to enjoy a bit of an adventure Location was interesting, the miners village has its charm Slate mine nearby is a great place for walk and exploration

Address was bit inaccurate, it took us few minutes to find our way around Beds were too soft, my and my partners back did not like the softness. We had to leave early to get some rest back at home This is a bit of a double whack. We were unable to heat up property to a standard, the fire place - no matter how much fuel was put in just could not even warm the living room where fireplace is located, however it did heat up bedrooms so much that it did interfere with quality of sleep. Location not great in terms of parking car or going for dog walks nearby House is filled with stuff, each space let it be shelf or table had picture or other souvenir from past making it difficult to actually use the house, have cuppa or read book, or just generally unpack Noise from water nearby was deafening but we did somehow get used to it

Property was not cleaned or bedding changed pre arrival and property smelt of damp on arrival.

Would come back, really enjoyed our stay.

Everything you need is there! Place is very nice and it was clean. In kitchen you got all necessary things to cook (+microwave, toaster, small coffee maker, washing machine, Alexa 😅😄). Beds were comfortable, toilet with shower - clean. There is place to chill in the evening with board games and Netflix/films. There was a guest book with instructions about the property and useful tips what to see around. Parking is on the street, but it was possible to find it, even late night. Views around are fascinating, small town is 4 minutes drive and you can find there small shops (Morrison and coop). There are small benches outside to eat breakfast with good weather.

Outside there is river, which is very loud, so even with windows closed you can hear it. If you are a light sleeper - it might be difficult. On the last day hot water wasn’t working in kitchen (in shower it was working).

Superb

It is a great little but spacious cottage with lots of equipment and most importantly a proper, working fireplace. Very good location as a base for discovering Wales. Great for families. Top floor bedroom is a hidden gem for kids. Although finding a place to park could be a little challenging, it was never too far to walk. Very cosy cottage with great character.

The little thing which needs some improvement was the level of cleanliness. It looks like the place had really quick turnover so maybe this is why it wasn't exactly as it should be. Definitely needs some deeper clean downstairs to avoid spoiling otherwise fantastic impression.

Really lovely - the cottage was a great find and we’ve had an amazing holiday.

The property location was lovely and ideal for being able to visit many places within an hour of travel. The cottage itself was cosy and the kids loved the upstairs arctic bedroom. Really enjoyed our stay.

The fridge and lack of freezer is poor when staying as a family of five! Luckily we ate out each day as we were out on adventurers so only really had breakfast, which meant the small fridge was suitable for our needs.

The noise from the river rapids was deafening impossible to sleep in the master bedroom so we slept in the attic room in separate beds not ideal as not 12

I loved the location of the place especially the cute notebook that holds all the information we needed, even suggestions of places we can go that are right just outside our doorstep. I loved that since were obviously from London, we didn’t really know a place to start adventuring. Definitely going back here again with friend and family 🫶🏽

Lovely property and good owner.....who is unfortunately being let down massivly by his cleaner

We don't like giving negative reviews so glad to start with the positive. Cottage is a lovely building in a great location - we were in the area for Zipworld so it was perfect. Parking outside on the road wasn't a problem since it was May and out of school holidays. The furnishings and look of the cottage is very nice. The property owner John was very helpful when we had a problem, even paying for us to stay in a hotel our first night as we were unable to stay at the cottage. Great cottage, great location, good owner....but he is being badly let down by his cleaning service.

The bad bit...the cottage had not been cleaned after the previous visitors had left - used bedding on the bed, wet towels on the bathroom floor, kitchen a mess (they hadn't attempted to clean up any spills they made). We immediately phoned the owner who apologised and said that had never happened before. Although he was very helpful the cleaner couldn't come out until the next morning and as we were unwilling to sleep in used bedding (who would be??) he kindly suggested a lovely hotel and refunded us the cost for B&B. The next bad bit - you would think that the cleaner having let the owner down would have gone out of their way to do a 5 star service?! The property had been made ready for new guests, but there were still massive crumbs and bits of debri/twigs/plastic that hadn't been hoovered up in the kitchen and main bedroom, and the property hadn't been dusted in weeks if not months - you could write your name in the mirrors, and your finger came away black from the top of the TVs and side tables etc. Unfortunately this didn't make for a comfortable stay, especially as places are meant to be doing enhanced cleaning during the pandemic. We went around cleaning all the touch points ourselves, and having to clean any kitchen equipment before we used it. Oh, would just mention that we didn't find the microwave until the morning we were leaving - way too high up in a cupboard, and I would say would be unusable and dangerous to anyone that isn't over 6 ft. I believe the owner needs to do some spot checks to see the problem for himself or he simply needs to find a new cleaning service.

A nicely decorated cosy cottage in the heart of Snowdonia.

The decor and homely touches were lovely, including a book with useful information. The location was fantastic, nice local walks and a good base to travel around Snowdonia. The facilities had everything we could need, including materials to build a fire.

It could have been cleaner, there was lots of dog hair around which doesn’t bother me too much but would bother other people. The bath matt was very first and needs replacing. Everything we used in the kitchen was dirty before use and needed to be washed. Again, none of it would make me not stay again because we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, just areas that could be better.

Beautiful location

Location was beautiful, lovely sound of the river in front of the property. Great walks from the door step, no need to take the car. Kitchen was great, all equipment and utensils for cooking were available including a washer dryer. Property detail was so lovely, bedrooms spacious and living space really comfortable.

Locatie voor een hike in Snowdonia is top. Schattig huisje.

Badkamer had iets schoner gekund, maar was prima. Aanwezige pannen zijn klein voor 4 volwassen (wanneer je een eenpansgerecht kookt).
