Will never book this again

Only thing you like this house is the view from the window & it’s in Snowdonia. Nothing else.

The property seen in pictures is totally different, sofas are dirty, house was full of spiders, we spent 1 hour in killing the spider with cleaning brush as we arrived, my kids have spider phobia, house was just ok in cleaning grade, low lights, kitchen was just ok, toilet floor was broken. secondly there is no pvt parking for this only house in the line, neighbors worked me up at 6am to let her go as her car was parked front of me in the line, the road is not for parking cars. When I enquired she said you ca park beside the next house as the road is wider , it was for small car not for mine suv, I parked nearly touching the property wall and risk to being hit by anyone, horribly at 45 degree downslope space. To be honest it was not value to money even.

Good views

The views were beautiful

The property needs a lot of TLC, all the floors throughout the property need attention, the beds all soft, basic but adequate but could be beautiful with some TLC, the trees/bushes in the front garden need serious cutting back as losing the amazing views before too much longer. The parking was better on the main road at the bottom of the bank.

A comfortable stay and the kids loved it but the property needs some maintenance

The property has beautiful views and was clean and uncluttered; there was plenty of room for us all. The host got back to us very quickly when we asked for help finding something. Basic but had everything we needed and is in a really good location. You can easily walk to shops, rail station and other local amenities and it's a very short drive from local attractions.

Could do with some refurbishment. Wardrobe and shower screen doors broken and a few drawer knobs came off in our hands. Couldn't get wifi as the info provided didn't match the networks available (in fairness we didn't raise this with the host and I'm sure he would have sorted it). Would be good to give some warning of how steep the hill leading to the house is as many people would struggle. Also found it quite hard to find as the road name isn't marked.

Great location, great place to stay!

Great place to stay for the weekend, had everything we needed, and enough space for the 6 of us. Location was perfect for us, as our main reason for the trip was to climb Snowdon, which was about 30 mins away.

It can get very cold and wish we brought a blanket. However, the heating worked fine once it had warmed the house. Also, need to be careful on the stairs. Both inside and out are very steep, which obviously can't be helped, but someone with mobility issues may struggle. Host left great instructions and responded well though so not really a negative but something to note.

Met our needs as a base for the evenings and somewhere to stay

Perfect size for us and the open plan lounge was spacious, large bathroom with powerful shower. Front garden nice in the morning. Great WiFi parking and issue. Easy walking distance to the pub etc.

Stairs very steep with wobbly hand rail - slippery slate steps to get up to the property would not advise if you have mobility problems. Bobbly bedsheets, some issues with housekeeping which were reported to the owner who contracts cleaners for the property.

Dreadful! I’m so gutted, we had travelled hours!

The views

Despite being told there was parking for 2 cars, there wasn’t! We couldn’t get parked anywhere near the property that was safe. It was on the steepest hill I’ve ever encountered so is a struggle in any car. My kids read the guest book as soon as we got to the cottage, and read on numerous pages that there was a ghost, so they were terrified to sleep! The sofa is stained and dirty. Bleach stained towels. The bbq grill was left rusty on a cigarette covered patio so unusable. We would have left on arrival, but being a bank holiday weekend, everywhere was fully booked. We only stayed one night. Im gutted, we saved hard for this cottage and it ruined our getaway. I’d very much like a partial refund.

Disappointing

It was walking distance to our friend's farm where her wedding was taking place.

The property lacked any character. Unfortunately the kitchen was poorly equipped there were light bulbs missing (including from the upstairs landing, kinda important), there was only one roll of toilet paper - we had to buy more, only 3 beds we're made - we had additional guests and asked for extra bedding which didn't arrive until the following evening, and some of the mattresses we're definitely due an upgrade. All in all it was a bit disappointing. We were in town for a friend's wedding and many other friends were staying in other holiday lets, so we had plenty of comparison! It was essentially somewhere to sleep, little more and in that it served it's purpose moderately well.

Cold, only just ok.

The towels were clean and smelt nice. The water was nice and hot. The television worked well with a good picture. We had internet that worked most of the time though we did have to try to log in again.

There was nowhere to park despite being told there was. All the paperwork/instructions was out of date and inaccurate. We were really cold until we put the heating on, it took an hour to warm up, we sat with our coats on. Everything was bare and basic with two empty fireplaces.

I was impressed by the fact that the heating was on when we arrived after 6 hours journey. We also had a nice Christmas tree with lights on. Comfortable beds, a big bathroom, a very nice living room with character.

A very stip hill to the cottage but we found an,alternative route. Unfortunately, somebody left their car on the driveway to the cottage so we couldn't stop in front of the house to unload the luggages. We had to park the cars at some distance and make a few journeys from the cars to the house. The heating was not on all the time and we didn't have access to the thermostat. However, we had an extra electric heater which we used.

No parking available - had to park on the main road and carry the bags up a hill. The front door area had loads of cigarette butt's lying around on the ground. The beds were terrible and need replacing. The shower head holder is broken so had to hold the shower head to shower. There is a leak in the kitchen just inside the door which blocks the entrance so there was a pool of water to jump over every time you wanted to get into the kitchen. The only positive was large TV, WiFi and Netflix was great. This property needs to inform people it is situated on a steep hill with several steps up to the door and also access issues inside with a steep stairwell, step down into bathroom and step up into shower so it is entirely unsuitable for anyone even with minor mobility issues.

Basic option for 5/6 people on a steep slope near the centre of Blaenau - not great, not terrible.

Adequately equipped 3 bedroom semi-detached house, in a row on a steep slope above the main street of Blaenau. Good-sized living room with a big TV programmed to Netflix, a couple of sofas and a dining table. Decent kitchen. One spacious bathroom (though no bath). Good views from the front. Easy check-in with key safe. There is wi-fi though the listing says there isn't.

Not entirely clean, no mattress protectors, cheap and uncomfortable mattresses (especially in the bunk beds), only one loo roll - and the owner ignored my message requesting more. Piles of fag-ends at the gate, generally a run-down area, very steep and narrow lanes if you want to navigate it by car - you're better off parking down on the main street, which is just a minute away. If you're not too fussy, this place is ok.

A group of 5 of us checked in at The Anchorage Snowdonia on 12 Aug 2022. Unfortunately our stay was awful and unpleasant. All the bedrooms were dirty with hair , dirt and dead insects all over the sheets. The duvets were unclean. The mattress of all beds were filthy and worn out. It was disgusting to find couple of bed bugs on one of the beds. Nobody could come into terms of spending the night, however it was past midnight and we had nowhere to go. It is very disturbing to have spent the night in such a dirty environment. Keeping in mind covid or leaving it a side, it is unacceptable to give an unclean and dirty house on rent in any given situation.

Location was ok. Good size smart t.v. Heating good. Very quiet location as there's no passing traffic and you can't hear the neighbours

Overall the cleaning was very poor. There was a lot of dirt in the kitchen drawers. The garden was dirty with food and empty wrappers, tissues and beer cans left on the floor. The freezer was frozen solid. Very large urine stain and strong smell of urine on the mattress in the twin room. Duvet and pillows on the double bed were very stained. Also only 4 out of the 6 beds had linen on them when it should sleep 6 people. Only 3 small towels provided when there was 5 of us. The shower trap was blocked and filthy and so the shower wasn't draining properly. The lounge/ living room lighting was poor as more than half of the light bulbs were either missing or not working. The ceiling had a larger patch where it was coming down above the bed. The fire place has a piece missing that needs looking at pronto before someone tries to use it. The outside steps leading up the property are sharp and a trip hazard.

I am very pleased with the stay. The house had heating, internet( although the announcement is written there is no) large tv, comfortable sofas and beds. Grill in front of the house. Fully equipped kitchen.

There was no sponge to wash dishes or extra rubbish bags.

Parking wasnt available outside the property despite emails saying there was. One mattress on a single bed was very uncomfortable. You can feel the springs with your hands Table was very wobbly and seemed like it needed tightening

Great cottage

It was a very nice place to stay. Loved free wifi, Netflix, ease of check-in/out. All equipment provided. Comfy and warm. Everything we needed.

Could give instructions where switch for oven is and heating. Instructions given were incorrect but we did find them. Parking difficult but it was mentioned in confirmation.

We striggle forKitchen facilties were very basic and we struggled for equipment to cook a full meal. We also felt bigger towels would have better having been out walking. Mattresses on bunk beds are not comfortable and probably need replacing
