Great hiking holiday, though a rather cold cottage

Excellent location and pleasant rooms

Endless trouble with the heating, which keeps on failing, because for some reason it depends on wifi. But kudos to the housekeeper for resolving it, which wasn’t easy. Unfortunately, she hadn’t been called in earlier by Finest Retreats…

Too expensive

Location is great

It is too expensive for given quality of the place. Lights in the ground floor were not working, no hairdryer, no shower gel / shampoo - usually for similar price these small and cheap things are expected…pillows and blankets are the cheapest and very long time used. Responsiveness of the owner is not good - seems they only respond strictly in working hours.

Lovely place but

For us, this property is all about the location. It is a good base to get too different locations. You can hike right out of your door.

● bath is mouldy. A cheap fix to seal it has, in the end, made it look disgusting. ● piles of dust under sofas, in cupboard. Anywhere they think you won't look. ● the pots and pans are useless. Burnt on food, burnt off coatings.

Lovely cottage

Lovely little cottage in a great location. Comfortable beds with a good sized lounge and kitchen.

There was no hand wash, no spare bin bags and only half a toilet roll when we arrived so we had to go straight back out to get some. Only one tea towel and no oven gloves.

property has all we needed and not too much clutter so easy to keep clean. great location for incredible hiking and swimming. housekeeper very responsive to minor queries via emergency number

A lovely, comfortable home from home.

The house was cozy and comfortable with plenty of everything we would need (plates, cushions, towels, cutlery etc.). Beds were comfortable, and facilities were clean and perfectly functional.

the kitchen floor was a little dirty, although a wooden floor is probably hard to keep clean. a radio/working speaker would have been a nice addition, as well as perhaps a little sort out of the games cupboard that was a bit of a mess when finding things to play. the garden, although a nice space, could do with a little maintenance. all these things would not stop me from returning to the property however.

Trip to North Wales

Cottage was nicely decorated and warm in a good location for our trip. Decent selection of cooking equipment. There is a reasonably well stocked spar shop close by.

You need to undo the chain on the parking space everytime so unless you have a passenger you will need to get out the car to unlock it. The parking space is not overly big so our car did stick out a bit. There could have been more instructions in the welcome pack about how to work the TV.

Two night's booking but left promptly after one night as it was a sub-standard property

Quiet rural location.

Property and bedlinen smelt musty like the old vacuum cleaner in the living room. Dead flies on window sills, no washing-up liquid in kitchen. Arrived late Sunday night and left a day early at 9.30am the next morning as it was totally unsuitable for people like us with health issues. Owner won't refund the unused night and the management Finest Retreats who sent several check-in links beforehand (which didn't work) with threats that we should leave the property clean or our deposit would be forfeited was ridiculous, and should be called Retreats as there's nothing "finest" about them.

lovely location with Spar shop close by and nice 2 mile walk on your doorstep. great to have the use of the fire to cosy up in the evening after long walks.

can’t say there was anything I didn’t like about the property other then there’s not a driveway but it’s easy enough to park close by. the TV wasn’t working but that didn’t worry us too much and the welcome folder was inside a kitchen draw so didn’t find that until day 2. once found it had some great info and some lovely walks

Vies, slecht onderhouden huis zonder werkende verlichting. Waardeloze service van Finest Retreats.

De locatie is perfect. Vanaf het huisje kun je direct beginnen met wandelen.

Wij hebben hier 5 nachten verbleven met drie kleine kinderen, en het was ronduit een nachtmerrie. Het huisje was bij aankomst vies: de douche zat onder de schimmel, het beddengoed rook alsof er al iemand in had geslapen, en er lag stof en vuil (o.a. dierenharen) op meerdere plekken. De rij kookboeken op het aanrecht zaten onder de spinnenwebben. De keukenverlichting werkte niet, er was te weinig bestek voor het aantal gasten, en tot overmaat van ramp deed ook de verlichting in de woonkamer het niet. Er lag zelfs een nonchalant briefje op tafel dat de lampen stuk waren, alsof dat maar een kleinigheid is. We hebben direct bij aankomst contact opgenomen met Finest Retreats, de beheerder van het huis, om de verlichting gerepareerd te krijgen. Blijkbaar beheren zij echter alleen tijdens kantooruren. Beloftes over een snelle reparatie werden niet nagekomen en communicatie was traag en ontwijkend. De verlichting is tijdens ons verblijf niet gerepareerd, volstrekt onaanvaardbaar. Met drie jonge kinderen zaten we dagenlang in een halfdonker, in een huis dat nooit verhuurd had mogen worden in deze staat. Dit is absoluut niet wat je mag verwachten voor het bedrag dat we betaald hebben. Slecht onderhoud, gebrekkige hygiëne en een gebrek aan serieuze klantenservice. Boek dit huis NIET als je je vakantie niet verpest wilt zien.
