Quaint home like grandmother's.

Easy system of a lockbox with provided code.

First impressions were it was small but after a day we called it quaint and met our needs. The glasses in outdoor porch was great for meals. Kitchen was well furnished.

Peaceful, spacious and everything you need..

Location is great if you like peace. It was at the edge of town and 15min walk to the shops or 4minute drive. Very quiet and peaceful, facing cycle track and sometimes you can see the bikers whiz down the hills. I found it pretty cool. Facilities great, it had everything you needed, maps, even a hand written booklet with suggestions for places to eat, history of the house which I found interesting etc. The host left Welsh cakes and bread which was a lovely gesture (shame I'm gluten intolerant, but no fault of the owner as I didn't specify this). Parking space is right outside the cottage and the road is very quiet. I barely heard the traffic outside. Heating is centrally controlled but temperature was perfect for me. You have the option of using the fireplace if you wish.

I didn't realize the window in the living room downstairs wasn't fully locked until 2nd evening and panicked as I couldn't figure out how to get it shut and the thought of sleeping in the property the night before with window not secured. However I messaged the owner and she responded and all was resolved shortly after. No complaints at all. Would definitely stay again!

An excellent week in a spectacular area. We would recommend this cottage as a base for a holiday

Well restored old miners cottage. Very comfortable and well equipped. Particularly liked the conservatory at the back with the big dining table. Excellent position for exploring the surrounding area, and for us the five different railways we visited in six days.

Bedrooms upstairs with toilet down the steep stairs was a bit of a challenge for nocturnal visits to the loo.

19th century miners cottage with a modern twist.

It’s a lovely little cottage, right on the edge of Blaenau Ffestiniog. It has lovely views and beautiful scenery within a minute’s drive. The town is of course the centre of slate mining, so it is not exactly picturesque. But the people are lovely and very friendly. Being just outside town, the cottage stands in a small terrace isolated from all that. Fantastic starting point for exploring in all directions on fabulous roads.

Nothing to dislike. It’s small with a steep staircase, but that’s what miners got in the 19th century. It’s been modernised and has everything you need.

The cottage is so comfortable and cozy, very tasteful and authentic renovation. A lot of attention to detail to make it feel homely. The fireplace was wonderful. The cottage was well stocked and the host gave excellent communication.

Cozy Christmas break at a lovely cottage.

The cottage was well managed, decorated and fully stocked with all the items you would need to have a comfortable stay there. The views from outside were lovely as well.

Sykes Cottages were sending me too many messages and sometimes they were innacurate, some exaples include; I was told that I had to bring my own towels because there were none at the cottage when in fact there were. Another message stated that I had to pay for a 'Good Housekeeping Bond' fee that in the end I didn't have to pay for.

Great Snowdonia Stay

A well equipped house with some nice extras. Well presented. This feels like a house that the owner has taken a lot of time to get to a great standard. Great location. Towels were included despite listing description.

WiFi problems from start of holiday. We had 2 teenagers with us so they were not happy. They enjoyed their holiday any way.

Comfy, Cozy Cottage.

It was a lovely, comfy cottage with fabulous views. It had a well equipped kitchen too. It was warm, there was a little conservatory and back yard.

Very good location. House is clean, tidy and organised. Happy with our holiday. Very good host.

Need to sort out the kitchen and toilet sink properly so people could be able to use it during their whole stay without any hassle or inconvenience.

We loved this cottage. It was spotless and very comfortable with everything you need and more. Great location, great views all round and great and easy communication with Katherine, owner prior to arrival. Lovely gift left of cake, bread and milk. Loved it and will be back again. Thank youx

Wonderful cottage in great location

The location of Miners Cottage was superb, we were within an hour's drive of the whole area with lots of attractions & amenities close by. The cottage itself was very comfortable & clean, well equipped & with lovely views. The loaf of bread, carrot cake & milk on arrival were a lovely touch & arrangements for the key code were straightforward & I had a lovely chat with the owner prior to travelling. Thank you very much, would book again & highly recommend!

No washing machine (no room for one) - not a complaint, just a heads up for anyone with small children as I once was & it was useful to have one!

Disappointed with cleaner's rude attitude.

Kitchen well equip. Great location, clean, quiet and initial provision left. Very kind and thoughtful. Log fire and wi fi was great. Most amenities worked. Kitchen well equipped.

Water wasnt draining well in the shower. Rude cleaner arrived unannounced. Had an attitude. Main door was open. Bags in hallway ready to be loaded in the car, it was 1015. Understoood check out was at 1000. But cleaner shouted we should have left at 1000. I had a towel in my hand about to put it with the pile of soiled towel in bathroom. Cleaner rudely told me not to take the towel. I was very offended that cleaner assumed I was gonna steal the towel. My daughter and I left the cottage spotless. Left the cottage the way it was when we checked in. We had a great stay until the cleaner spoilt it for us.

Spotless accommodation, comfy beds, mountain biking just over the road. beautiful views a real home from home, a gem in the welsh countryside.

we would have liked a hoover and washing machine for dirty bike clothing.
