Comfortable cottage, great location for visitors, good communication from the host throughout.

It’s very comfortable and was very clean. Plenty of towels and the kitchen was well equipped although we didn’t need to use much in the end. The location is great if you are driving about. Ballycastle is 10 mins drive away and the tourist attractions along the north coast all within 20-30 mins.

Parking is a little tricky just because the cottage is on the main road and visibility is awkward leaving the house. Best if you reverse in. Also would have preferred to know about the cash payment in advance.

Highly recommend

We had a wonderful stay at this guest house! Everything was perfect — the house is cozy, spotless, and fully equipped with everything you might need. The beds and armchairs were especially comfortable — a real treat after a busy day. There’s a petrol station with a shop right next door, and a larger Centra supermarket just 4 minutes away by car. The location is excellent: all the main attractions are within a 5–15 minute drive. I highly recommend this place — we absolutely loved it!

The parking situation was dangerous...trying to back out of the incredibly tight parking spot got me honked at, as it was directly on the main road through town and I had zero visibility (backing in was not an option since it was a busy road). The location was incredibly noisy and right next to a petrol station. There was no tea or coffee in the kitchen, which is the first time I've seen that missing in any accommodation I've stayed at in Northern Ireland (or the Republic, or France, England, Wales, etc). The sign above the thermostat informing us that "Utilities are metered and payable in cash on departure!" was so odd and not mentioned anywhere in the listing. The place just felt like we weren't really welcome there.

A great base for all that the Giant’s Cause area way has to offer.

This place was perfect for us. It was cosy, easily accessible and clean. I slept in the chair and couch with ease and the beds were perfect. Shower had enough hot water for the three of us. Close (I mean really close) to a gas station for needs and coffee. Only downside was traffic noise, but that was minimal and did not interfere with our rest. Close to everything we needed as we traversed the island.

Great stay at Dark Hedges Cottage

We had an excellent stay at the Dark Hedges Cottage. The place was spotlessly clean & tidy. Our room was very comfortable and we slept well. Location is excellent, particularly if you are planning to visit Giant Causeway, Bishmills, Coleraine. Everything is in 15 min to drive. Thank you.

We had a small problem with a hot water, but this problem was resolved very quickly and efficiently. Thank you Anne.

Clean and tidy

It was really clean and was well kept. The house was nicely decorated and all facilities worked. The property was really close to the dark hedges and Bally castle.

Only thing I would say is that it’s quite far out from portrush and portstewart

Don't judge a book by it's cover

Surprisingly quiet, very comfy, good sleep. The host was also very good at communicating and helping me out when I couldn't work the oven.

Location wasn't as rural as I thought it would be, next to a petrol station but the petrol station did close at 10pm so it wasn't noisy all night which was a relief.
