Chongfah Resort

The reception team were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. They had requested my arrival time and the room was ready on our arrival at 12.30 which was great as this was well before their normal check in time. The room was clean. We found the bed very hard but requested a mattress topper to soften it the next morning and it was immediately done which we appreciated. It made a big difference to our sleep quality. We were not very excited by the breakfast. It was a struggle to get ripe pineapple and they struggled to give my fried eggs that were not broken. The cake and pastries were the same everyday. The coffee was very good. We do appreciate in a small hotel offering a big buffet is hard but to ring the changes a bit more on the cake and pastries front would have been nice. Never a problem to get a sunbed and the pool was very nice. The rooms were very dark but we did expect this based on other reviews. We would definitely return for a few nights.

The location is brilliant, the room was perfect, the staff are fantastic, everyone is super friendly and the food is excellent!

Chongfah hotel is a delightful, small (30’ish rooms) oceanfront hotel, with easy side access to the beach. All the hotel staff were friendly, helpful & gave that lovely Thai warmth that makes you feel at home. Our room was spacious & beautifully clean, which was no easy task with all the sand. Serviced twice daily. The location was great - come out of the hotel & turn right, it’s a short walk to the busy, touristy town. Turn left out of the hotel and at there are a smaller selection of more local restaurants, beach bars & places for a massage. We particularly enjoyed Bobby’s beach bar, Chicken House restaurant and The One Time Thai Massage (adjacent to Bobby’s). At low tide, you can walk for 2.5miles along the beach, wading across a couple of estuaries, past the big, chain hotels, to the ‘lighthouse’. For a small fee (20 baht) there is a raft service to cross the first (& deepest) estuary, at high tide. It is also possible to walk along the more beautiful, quieter beach in the other direction at low tide. After a storm earlier in the year, it is not quite so straightforward but worth it. There is a sea defence / retaining wall in front of the hotel so to access, turn left out of the hotel onto the road & walk to the end, passed Bobby’s beach bar & The One More Thai massage. Would definitely recommend Chongfah hotel & would happily stay again.

We had such a great stay at Chongfah Beach Resort in Khao Lak. It’s a real boutique spot—super peaceful, really well kept, and just ideal if you want to switch off and relax. One of the things we liked most was how calm and quiet everything was. No noise, no crowds, just a really chilled, peaceful vibe the whole time. The gardens are gorgeous and clearly very well looked after, giving the whole place a lush tropical oasis feel. The resort also has its own private beach, which was clean, beautiful, and never busy. It was perfect for watching the sunset, or just sitting back and listening to the waves. We also had a really good experience at Seaborn Restaurant. The food was consistently good, but what really stood out was the service.
