Gorgeous hotel with traditional feel and lovely staff!

The decor was very traditional and the room was huge with a lovely bath and walk in shower with seat. Bed was also super King and comfortable. Although the pool and pool are were small there was never anybody there so a couple of times we had pool days due to jet lag. Staff couldn’t do enough for you.

This hotel is amazing. Honestly the atmosphere, architecture and very thoughtful staff made us enjoy our stay. We put do not disturb because our room was clean, but they were still so thoughtful and left toilet paper & water in front of our door. Thank you for everything!

Beautifully designed ! Attention to detail. Helpful staff !! Food ( dinner) amazing Nice rooms ... however my room had no window.....no matter how beautiful it was decorated .. it's a NO NO Had I had a balcony I would rate it a 5... now I rate it a generous 3.

No window in a room is unacceptable... and frankly.. not safe. It's OK for a night... NOT OK for 9 days... I left before.,, as I could not stand it anymore.. Money wasted... Doors are not well isolated so it's somewhat noisy... The airport has a led light so bright.... you have to shut it down... otherwise you won't sleep! ..not ideal when you have no window.

Don't look further - go there!

We stayed there 5 nights during our stay in Khao Lak. Hôtel Gahn is a hidden gem, aside from the convenient location - walking distance to everything (market, muy Thai fight stadium, beaches, supermarket, 7/11, restaurants, laundry, pharmacy), the included breakfast was great; they make barista coffee and great omelettes. But the biggest highlight is the staff and excellent customer service. They were very attentive, kind and helpful. The rooms are well furnished, beds super comfy and the pool is just perfect to relax and chill with a drink after a big day before going out for dinner. We highly recommend this place! Thanks for everything Hotel Gahn !

Superior Room? Only if you’re a bat

Superior Room? Only if you’re a bat If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to sleep in a windowless bunker, look no further than the so-called “superior room” at this hotel. Yes, superior — apparently in the sense that it’s superior at trapping moisture. With zero fresh air, the place is basically a dark storage unit where your towels and swimwear remain permanently damp, musty, and mildly tragic. Claustrophobia included free of charge. Honestly, this room could just as well have been located in the basement — and for all I know, maybe it was. The staff certainly didn’t see a problem; they assured us this is “normal” for a superior room. Funny how the website forgets to mention the whole no window situation. Minor detail, I guess. That Booking.com thinks this is acceptable accommodation is… bold. Very bold. To be fair, we knew the hotel was on a busy main road. And sure, the staff being glued to their phones and the neighbors dumping trash in the hallway might just be bad luck. But a room without a window? That’s not bad luck — that’s below every imaginable standard. Stay here if you enjoy darkness, stale air, and the general ambiance of a broom closet. Otherwise: run. Preferably to a place with actual oxygen.

Beautifully decorated and perfectly kept. It was an oasis of peace and freshness as opposed to the outside. The staff was courteous and kind, always extremely helpful. The restaurant at dinner and breakfast was excellent.

Amazing hotel, will definitely be coming back

This hotel is fantastic in just about every way. Lovely staff, the decor in the lobby and the rooms was excellent and gave the hotel a unique atmosphere and very welcoming. Food in the restaurant was very good indeed. The whole place was spotlessly clean, and very comfortable beds. I have stayed in so many hotels throughout my career, but I have to say that this is certainly in my top ten.

Comfy rooms in a more quiet area of Ao nang

Very comfortable bed, good facilities and nice staff.

The breakfast was not that tasty. Just lots of white bread and sugar cereals, fried food. There are not many good restaurants nearby. Most of them are in Ao nang center approx 1 km away. However there is a beautiful boardwalk nearby with one nice grill house and a beach bar. Also a great and peaceful location for morning and evening walks.

Clean, comfortable, nice decor. Small sandy beach is the highlight, massage on the beach with drinks…. Very nice!

The only issue was having to drive a few kilometres up the road to make a u turn to head back into town.

Beautiful design hotel with a great pool and a good vibe. The rooms are well designed and comfortable.

The service was terrible. The correct bedding configuration that was booked wasn’t initially provided. Staff don’t communicate. The bathroom plumbing lacks an airlock and stinks. The breakfast lacks European options. All that said, if the staff could communicate most issues would be solved.

Great hotel that feels like home.

Hotel Gahn is run by a lovely family. And it felt like home when we spent our time there. The hotel has a great design, classic and elegant. The garden is small but really nice and well maintained. The pool is not huge but even though a great place to chill and end a lovely day. The breakfast is delicious. And the restaurant in the evening is a must! The chef cooks really awesome food, family receipts only! The Café during the day offers a great variety of delicious drinks. The room is spacious and has everything you need for your stay like robes, refrigerator etc. The bed is HUGE and very comfortable. My son loved the huge bathtub! Besides all this, the most wonderful thing about this place is the owner and the staff. You can see that they put a lot of thoughts and love designing and running this place! They help you whenever they can and treated us like family! And that is how it felt staying there.

The location of the hotel is not the best. It’s located on the main Street, which makes it really easy to get, but sometimes also bit noisy depending on how people drive on the street.

Very unique place to stay. The rooms aswell as commin areas are very pretty.

The style, cleaness, location.

No pool towels. At night after arriving to hotel (around 11pm) the night guard called to our room and tells us we are in the wrong room. He came over - spoke not too well english and the situation was very confusing in many ways - especially as no actions were taken before the next morning when we had to change to other room. The staff was sorry about the situation but still confused a bit over it.. Also, in prior to our arrival I requested to arrange flowers for my partner birthday - of which they kindly did - but asked for 950thb(!!!) For bouqet.. i said that is waaaay to much so got 100thb ”discount”. Not a thai price , could have walked over the street for the fresh market to get that with 200thb.. With the price I had to pay you nearly get 1 night stay in hotel or a very nice dinner for 4 person, felt cheates about this ”service”. So that really got my experience less nice - considering the hazzle with rooms and all… Hotel anyway is nice and so is the staff.

Exceptional

Beautifully decorated and comfortable room. Great location close to restaurants and night market. Staff was very nice, we checked out at 6.30am and they even gave us breakfast for the road.
