Vanilla Hills Resort

Staying at Vanilla Hills was an absolute highlight of our trip to San Ignacio! The treehouse accommodation was a complete dream. We loved spending time on our own private deck, relaxing in the hammock, and using the unique outside shower. The resort grounds are bursting with nature—we saw so much incredible wildlife right from our room, including beautiful birds, iguanas, and even coatimundis right outside our window! The infinity pool was gorgeous, pristine, and incredibly refreshing after a long day of exploring. Another massive standout was the onsite restaurant. The food was so exceptional that we ended up eating there for dinner every single night of our 4-night stay! For 95% of our trip, the staff was absolutely exceptional, warm, and welcoming. The only minor hiccup we experienced was on our very last night. We happened to be the only guests staying at the resort that evening and went to have our final dinner at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the gentleman working that night really rushed us through our meal and didn't seem very helpful or attentive, which was a bit of a bummer for our last evening. That being said, one off-night didn't ruin what was otherwise a magical vacation. Vanilla Hills is a hidden gem, and we would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat! 10/10 recommend.

The lodge was in a really unique and ecological setting. It was a delight to find luxury settings in the middle of a beautiful lush forest. Quietly observing the natural wildlife was the highlight of the stay!

What a treat! My partner and I stayed earlier this week and what a wonderful surprise the resort turned out to be. The food was phenomenal. The property was pristinely kept. The staff were incredibly warm, knowledgeable about food allergies, and so accommodating to every request. Watching toucans and hummingbirds during breakfast and waking to jungle views each morning made our stay absolutely magical! Even though it was low season, this resort and its wonderful staff didn’t miss a single beat!
