The Day Dreamer at Ryedale House

The apartment was extremely clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out, modern yet still very homely and inviting. We really appreciated the laundry room and cloakroom, which made it easy to store luggage and keep everything tidy. The windows were a highlight: the bedroom ones opened like half a French door and the living room like a patio door, letting in so much air and natural light. The showers were powerful with plenty of hot water, and parking was very convenient. Self check-in was straightforward, and the reception staff were all exceptionally pleasant, friendly, and helpful. During the hot weather, having a freezer was a real bonus for ice pops, trays, and cold drinks. The furniture felt like good quality (nothing tatty), and the large smart TV was great for logging in to our own streaming channels. It was also nice that essentials like a tea towel, sponge, and dishwasher tablets were provided. The location couldn’t be better — just a 2-minute walk to the supermarket, 5 minutes to castle, and 10–15 minutes to the cathedral.

A couple of small things could make the stay even better. There was no washing-up liquid or cleaning spray provided, so we had to buy these locally. The dimmed bathroom lights switched off quite quickly (after about a minute without movement), which made it difficult to relax in the bath without the main bright lights on. Parking was on the expensive side, though we appreciate this is typical for York city centre.

Absolutely comfortable and modern apartment. Conveniently located to the city centre. Best value for money on our whole trip to the UK.

Just minor details: Although there is a variety of kitchenware (e.g. wine and champagne glasses) there are a bit few pieces of standard kitchenware, like plates, normal glasses and cutlery. It would be a great improvement to add another set of 4 glasses, plates and cutlery so that it is not necessary to start the just to a quarter filled dishwasher after every meal. Parking is available, but limited. We asked too late for a parking spot on the premises, so we ended up with the need to search for parking elsewhere which is not easy in UK city centres.

Beautiful presented apartment in an excellent location close to the city centre. Very comfortable with all you need for a self catering stay. Beds are a great size with en-suites to both bedrooms. Lovely lounge with a great size tv. Kitchen has everything you need. Whole apartment is clean and well maintained.
