Newly Converted Apartment Rowntree House Shambles

Great location, everything was within a 1 to 15-minute walk. Very easy to access. Loved the modern upgrades but surrounded by so much history. Super cozy feel. I enjoyed the property being sound proofed, we didn't hear anyone except when neighbors were entering their apartment. Bed was comfortable!

Wish this property was more accommodating. Check in 1 hour early was not approved after waiting a couple of months for a reply, we spent $30 on luggage storage near the location, but information to access the apartment was sent the night before so why was check in not approved for 1 hour early? There were cobwebs in every corner of the apartments as well as mold/mildew in the shower. The mirror in the bathroom was rickety and had to be propped up for use. There were not any spare towels anywhere for a 4-night stay. Shampoo and conditioner were provided but no body wash. Also, did not anticipate 5 flights of stairs to get to the apartment so just a heads up!!

The apartment is opposite the Shambles and all local attractions.

A small hard double bed, but that was personal preference, for others it may be perfect.

Had everything we needed in an excellent location

The only criticism was that the heating hadn’t been put on ready for our arrival. It was a bitterly cold day and the apartment took hours to warm up.
