Perfect Accommodation for a family getaway

One shower leaked through the ceiling into the living room and one didn't work but not the end of the world and didn't affect the trip too much!

Excellent value for money, but a bit rough.

The location was excellent and the property was clean and tidy.

There were a few broken items which could have been easily rectified. For example, the TV bracket holding the TV on the wall was broken and not fit for the size of the TV, one of the beds were broken and the en suite shower was not screwed tightly so water sprayed everywhere when turned it on (I had to tighten it by hand to stop the spray)

Good value for city centre stay

Very close to town centre, university- easy walk. Clean and tasteful decor. Spacious kitchen. Large fridge- freezer. 4 bathrooms very useful. Host allowed us to park in front of another property as roadworks meant we could not park on driveway. Easy access to property.

Beds are small doubles - worth knowing if you’re sharing with friends. No wine / champagne glasses - these were listed in description. Only 4 forks, broken tin opener. Not enough seating for our 7 guests ( 1 sofa, 2 chairs- so we had two people on bar stools). We had read previous reviews so had taken our own towels and some extra toilet rolls.

Basic

The kitchen was as shown in the picture, clean and well equipped. Each room had an ensuite. It was close to the Uni and the city centre.

The street was rather dodgy, possibly designed as student accommodation. Not what i would describe as luxury. The shower leaked badly into the kitchen/lounge on the second morning. So three of us couldn’t shower before we left. All having long journeys home. The bedrooms were very basic and the downstairs loo was not clean. I have messaged the owner three times but was told he is away on holiday.

Handy location with good facilities

It was a very convenient location for the university (we were attending a graduation) and the city centre being a 15 - 20 minute walk away (a little further for the station). The four bedrooms all had double beds and ensuites which was really handy, although as a result there wasn't always lots of space around the beds. Not a problem though if you're just sleeping there. Also there was a good size lounge and kitchen area with seating outside if the weather was hot enough. There was a good supply of shower gel and toilet roll.

Minor quibbles about a lack of floor mats in the bathrooms for when you step out of the shower - you had to step onto cold and slippery tiles. Also the floor tiles, certainly in the rear top bedroom were a little uneven, and the flooring outside that bedroom felt a bit suspect. One of our party complained the tea towels smelt a little as though they taken a long time to dry or been put away damp. But generally minor quibbles which didn't impact on our stay
