Luxurious boutique suite in City Center

This two-roomed apartment is in a great location for exploring the city. Two stops on the M52 Metro from Centraal, and easy to explore the city on foot or by metro and tram. Located on a mostly quiet street (apart from noise from the school next door and construction in the street, if you have the windows open - but that didn't start until 8.30am so was generally fine). Felt like a safe and pleasant part of the town to be situated in. Walking distance to Rijksmuseum, Heineken Experience & Blue Boat Company trips. Very handy quality coffee bar at the end of the street (Wakuli) for morning drinks & pastries, and a great cafe/bar as well (Bar Do) on the corner which serves brunches, lunch, dinner, and late night drinks. Didn't get to meet the owner but communication on the day of arrival & departure by WhatsApp worked fine. Picked up the key from a location a few streets away. There are 2 flights of steep stairs to get to the apartment (common in Dutch buildings). Main bedroom was spacious (the bed was a little soft for our preference but OK) with tasteful nude pencil studies on the wall, and the second small room has a sofa that can be folded out into a bed, plus a sink and fridge (no cooking facilities). There were some plates and cutlery but a few more items (forks, glasses) would be good. But it met our needs just fine. We used this room as a sitting room, admiring the arresting Grace Jones poster, and using YouTube or BBC World Service on the TV. Plenty of clean fluffy towels were provided as well as hand soap and shower gel. There are two toilet/shower rooms which was handy if two people need to get ready in the morning at the same time. The owner kindly left out a hairdryer for my use, you may need to request this. This is my second stay in this apartment and I am already planning to make a third booking as it was ideal for our needs, a fair price, and a great location.

Couple of wine or beer glasses being provided (there was one glass) and an extra fork (we could find only one!). Extra fan for the sitting room would be good in hot weather (there is one in the bedroom).

Lage top!!! Wir hatten sehr heiße Tage und waren froh, dass die Fenster geöffnet werden konnten. Die 2 kleinen Bäder waren auch sehr vorteilhaft. Den Host trafen wir für den Check-In und war er uns sehr sympathisch.

Meckern auf hohen Niveau: Teppichboden in der gesamten Wohnung - auf den Bildern aber ersichtlich. 2 Schlüssel wären von Vorteil.

Amazing location, lovely showers and unique decor

Bed mattress could use an update and hallway really needs a cleaning but actual unit was very clean

Location was great - 15-30min walk to the city center; laundry service, many cafes and restaurants nearby; close to Heineken Experience; subway and streetcar stations also close by. Unit itself was very clean.

Next door to a school so expect to be woken up early by the mass of parents on bikes dropping off their kids. Bed was pretty saggy in the center. Three flights of stairs - no elevator (not a big deal for us but be aware). Stairs smelled of perfumy cat/dog pee. Two very small bathrooms with shower curtains that tended to flutter and stick to you during shower. Hallway light on sensor that continuously turned off and on. Bathroom sinks [in Netherlands] are very small; had to wash my face in the kitchenette sink.
