Mokum Suites

Amazingly beautiful and LARGE Amsterdam flat with an incredible canal location, centrally located, close to metro and tram stops. Gorgeous room, light filled and the swing chair was a nice touch - loved sitting there watching canal life. The welcome drinks and coffee machine were appreciated, and excellent communication with the friendly owners and easy access and check in (however note there is no staff physically present). As noted by many, the stairs to the top floor are very steep and narrow but we liked this to experience staying in a historic Dutch accommodation. But a 28kg suitcase was a decent struggle. Having stayed at 4 other locations in Amsterdam, this is by far an absolute gem, staying in what I think is the BEST location hands down on the stunning Herengracht mile. Thank you for opening up this unique accommodation for us tourists to come visit.

It did not affect us but I will mention that this is an HISTORIC building. The owners have done a wonderful job with renovations, BUT you will hear movement of people above and below you - not loud, but you may hear footsteps and doors closing. We had the top (moon/second floor) suite which I recommend over the first floor who would have heard us coming and going each time we passed their door despite how quiet we were (not all guests may be so . Also being a wonderful location across the road from Rembrandtplein with its coffee shops, restaurants, and clubs, it is lively at night, though we didnt have a problem sleeping - but it also means its a very safe location returning late at night. Also the curtains are not very thick, and with 5am sunrises, it gets bright very early.

A fantastic place to stay - far exceeded our expectations. Our room was large, bed huge (also had a sofa bed), bathroom big, two sinks, shower and bath. Location was perfect, quiet and overlooking the canal. There is a kitchen on the ground floor, perfect for preparing snacks etc, a real bonus to have. Beware that (of course) being a period property the stairs to the rooms are very steep but for us that wasn’t a problem. We will without a doubt be returning!

Loved it all - only thing I can think of is that a small A/C unit would have been good as the room was very warm but our stay coincided with one of the hottest weeks so far. A fan was provided and we were fine.

The location is amazing, and the property itself is spotless. Another faultless stay! 10/10
