The host was so much more than patient. Our flight into Rome was delayed, then we got hopelessly lost trying to find the guest house. No internet, of course, as we had US cell phones. The host waited for us much longer than I would have. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable, and the kitchen well stocked for breakfast. We were only there for one night - barely 12 hours. Anyone could do a lot worse by staying somewhere else.

This property was conveniently located to the old city and very walkable. The dtairway into the building is a luttle dark and dingy but the unit itself is clean and well naintained and checkin was great. One should be aware that there is a beer house in the same building and live music could be heard until midnight bith nights. Therevis so a neighbour that is proud to display his guitar playing and vocals at night. Lots of restaurants to choose from and shirt walk to the boardwalk.

The hosts were lovely and really welcoming and helpful. The room was huge and nice. Really convenient for the port. The walk from the train station in the heat with my luggage was a trek so I’d probably get a taxi next time. There is quite a lot of noise from local bars at night and you can hear the other guest clearly so I would recommend bringing ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. I would definitely recommend staying here for a night if you’re getting a cruise.

We absolutely loved staying here! Ernesto was so accommodating and pleasant and really went the extra mile for us. There was always snacks and croissants stocked and place was neat and clean at all times and was overall just the best place to stay and do close to the port! We had done so much sight seeing and walking and he was there to drive us to the port so we wouldn't have to walk with all of our luggage. Everything was truly amazing! Thank you!

This was a wonderful stay near the cruise port in Civitavecchia. We strolled the streets at night and right around the corner were several cafes serving genuine Italian dishes. Yum! The guest suites are big and the common area was stocked. Our host was wonderful and friendly. Enjoy!

The biggest issue is that they have 2 rooms that are quite different. Based on reviews we booked the one where the bed and toilet are on the same level. When people arrived a day in advance of us, they kindly offered them their choice and they chose the one we had booked. Upon our arrival, and hearing our objection to accessing the toilet via a spiral staircase, they immediately made up the sofa bed on level one. The problem with this solution was that the bed could only be accessed by one side due to a wall. This meant one would be crawling over the other for every toilet break. At our age, this is not a good solution. In fairness, when we were younger, the spiral staircase, would’ve been unique and worth a story. But now it is simply a massive inconvenience, and not at all what we booked. The hosts were very friendly, but there was nothing they could do with what they had. In fact, it was their eagerness to please that had led to the situation and offering the first couple their choice of rooms as they seem to view the rooms as somewhat identical when they clearly were not. Amazingly, I was able to find another room at a nearby property that was available even on the night prior to a cruise. We stayed at the museum guest house, which was only steps away from the cruise port. If you were young and don’t mind a narrow spiral staircase between you and the toilet, book away. If you’re rather specific about your access, this is not the property for you.

We loved the property and room and the hosts are so nice and friendly. They keep the property so clean and with the amenities. Not recommended for folks who cannot climb stairs or have disabilities (no elevator) but we would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Sestra Strada is a gorgeous guesthouse in Civitavecchia. I wish I could have stayed for more than one night. The hosts are wonderful, the setup is exceptional. The shared kitchen area has everything you’d need if you want to prepare your own meals complete with a big dining table where to can gather with the other guests at the property. There’s only two apartments in the property, both fully contained with their own private bathroom. There’s a loft upstairs where there’s a huge queen bed, TV, and seating; while on the main level is the bathroom and a day bed, along with a small table with chairs if you’d like to dine in privacy or just sit with your morning coffee. It is but a few minutes away from a big central market area and access to the town is literally one street away. There are restaurants all within a stone’s throw, and PAM LOCAL 3 minutes walking time away if you want to grab any essential food items to prepare in the kitchen. The cruiseport is walking distance; approx. 20 minutes to the terminal facility, or 10 minutes to the shuttle bus. The guesthouse feels like a little slice of home whether you’re there for a night or having an extended stay to explore the region. Highly recommend, I would stay at Sestra Strada again in an instant!
