The Latch Inn

It was a special place to stay. So much history and uniqueness. Wonderful service and comfy beds :)

Property is very nice convenient to Vancouver Ferry, Butchard Gardens and Butterfly World, less than 25 min drive to Victoria Downtown.

The Latch Inn is a lovely, charming place with uniquely decorated rooms and a comfortable sitting room. Breakfast is fresh and delicious, staff is attentive and very nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. It is an older property so don’t expect brand new. There’s a great restaurant next door at the harbor for dinner.

The hotel is a lovely old log home from ages ago. But the service isn’t up to par. We arrived and no one answered. I had to call them to open the door. We ask a few questions about the main attractions there and the employee knew nothing. I asked if he lived here and he did!! Room was pretty but it was supposed to have a beautiful water view, instead it faced a ton of boat garages and boats docked up. You couldn’t see open water anywhere. Other guests were talking about it too and just as disappointed. We’d booked this location for this reason. The breakfast was ok, but nothing to write home about. The hollandaise sauce tasted odd, the muffins were made with some strange ingredients, etc. We’ve stayed in hundreds of b&bs and we didn’t feel the staff was engaged with their customers, no wine or appetizers in the afternoon unless you paid for it. Overall a bit disappointing. Also please provide a trash can in the room. Only one tiny one in the bathroom

A good option for a one night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. A charming older building that was mostly OK apart from the bathroom which needed upgrading.

Staff were all very welcoming. Breakfast was excellent. Property was charming, although showing it's age in places.

This is old, so the plumbing seems to be okd too. The water pooled as i had a shower but overall i enjoyed my stay. The breakfasts were excellent, kept me going till dinner.

Safe and quiet. Neat and tidy though some touches were country style , native and cultured. Overall, nice view with marine loading docks of boats and fresh sea breeze air. Bedroom was clean and ocean view.

Beautiful old building that needs some TLC especially on the outside areas. Inside it could use some help with estetics such as less fake looking plastic plants. Very comfy bed Breakfast was so so;definitely not quite what we expected. Could be an amazing property with afew changes. I’m sure it was fantastic at its prime.

Beautiful property on the water. Equal distance between my arrival airport and departure ferry terminal. Includes breakfast.

In a quite neighborhood nothing around it a little run down outdated but kind guy serving breakfast which was oke

Property was not worth of price

We were very pleased with our overnight stay. The room was large and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast that was included with our reservation. Parking was very convenient and the grounds were lovely.

The host was amazing - exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was outstanding as well. I would stay here again when in Sydney.

The architecture and decor was amazing. Very cool experience.

This hotel has good points and bad points. It is quaint and the common areas a clean but our bathroom was in rough shape with peeling paint, a poor shower head that i was difficult to get under, a very dirty fan and pretty old tiles. There was also no air con in our room.

Great breakfasts, quiet, lots of old charm and great service

Our room was wonderful with great windows and views. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was very good with great service. The outdoor was somewhat neglected, especially the patio and landscaping. There was not daily refreshing of the room (no change of towels, emptying the single garbage bin or refilling the container of soap). Overall we enjoyed our stay in this historic hotel.

Lovely staff, wonderful breakfast!!No view from our bedroom of the cove, but it was fine.

My wife is experiencing Alzheimer's, and the staff at Latch Inn made our stay as welcoming and comfortable as can be.

Lovely old Inn. Great ambiance and decent breakfast. Our room needs a new mattress, but otherwise, very nice. Would recommend.

The property condition is bad, not worth the price.

The Latch was the perfect spot for our weekend getaway! The room was incredibly comfy and the original charm of the building was apparent throughout. Our room overlooked the marina which offered excellent sunset views. The breakfast was also 10/10!

Everything was romantic, beautiful and comfortable with very friendly service.

You will be hard pressed to find a place as charming and as well run as the Latch. Its like staying at downton abbey on a much smaller scale. Perfect.

The Latch is a great place to stay…when there are no children or babies. I understand the financial necessity of offering accommodation to kids and babies but I don’t think the inn is built for them. Maybe a Holiday Inn type of offering might be better? The walls are very thin. I dodged them this trip but not the last. There is a chance you’ll hear horns of large boats backing out of the yard at the marina next door. It happened at 6:30 am on my last trip but I think it’s rare.

Great old place, comfortable and good breakfast.
