I stayed in this hotel 20 years ago as well as recently and really like the fact that it is an historic building and right in the centre of Loches. The people running it are very pleasant and helpful.

If you like old towns with history and want to stay in an old coaching inn (logis de france), then stay here! It is old but cleaned very well. The restaurant (also dining room for breakfast) is beautiful. Le monsieur (owner) is a excellent chef and madame serves meals for an elegant and unhurried evening. often only 4-6 other tables dining. We stayed for 3 weeks and loved Loches and the Hotel de France!

the property had a lot of character, and was in the center of a beautiful midieval town. the rooms should be updated, but weren't unpleasant.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel de France. It’s a great location and the hotel is full of character. Yes, it’s a bit dated but this adds to the charm. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and Loches is such a beautiful town.
