Stayed there over 10 years ago and would continue to go back. Location and staff are an A+. My only disappointment was the mattresses are very firm for this old man. Still if we ever make it back to Venice, it will be at the Hotel Becher.

Hotel directly on the canal was convenient. We were picked up at the airport by private boat, arranged smoothly by the hotel staff. We chose the same mode for our departure to the train station. Walking distance to the Doge palace and so much. Breakfast was very good and staff were lovely.

Marco and the Hotel Becher team are magnifico ! A highlight of our stay in Venice was their hospitality and kindness… Their goal is to “make you feel at home” and they exceeded our expectations! My husband and I stayed for 3 nights. This hotel was amazing, super clean and had little touches that made it perfect without the high price tag. It is literally walking distance from all the important attractions, lots of shops and restaurants. The free breakfast is delicious with scrambled eggs, bacon or a type of sausage, etc. The receptionist, Elena was absolutely wonderful, sweet and super helpful. She recommended some good authentic restaurants and helped with general questions, always with a smile and very professional. I highly recommend this hotel. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the room was nice and comfortable with good amenities, breakfast was also good, it was nice and central with short walking distances to st marks square and in the other direction the venice accademia gallery, so much to do and see that 5 nights barely seemed enough

This was the perfect location for a first visit to Venice. The front of the hotel is on a small canal and the back is on an alleyway that connects to many shops and restaurants. All of the hotel staff were so kind and helpful, especially Elena who arranged our water taxi’s at the beginning and end of our stay. The night front desk staff member, Marco was so helpful with directions. The room was perfect for four adults and the breakfast was great!

Loved staying here! It’s in such a convenient location, staff was super nice and helpful, and the room was nice. Staff was always around, attentive, and answered any questions we had. Loved the private dock for the property and was extremely easy to get around. The area felt safe. The only complaint I have is that the shower made it nearly impossible to not drench the floor. The shower door is just too small. Regardless, house keeping replaced all towels every day so wasn’t that big of an issue when we laid some extras on the floor.

Hotel Becher is a small boutique hotel centrally located right on a canal. The service was excellent ensuring my arrival and departure went smoothly with a private water taxi. Loved the decor and ambiance of the hotel. I will recommend to friends and family

Positives: The breakfast was excellent. There was a lot of variety of food and everything was tasty. The waitress was friendly and quick. In our room, there was a safe and a mini fridge. There was also nice shampoos, soaps, and lotions in the washroom. Lastly, the location was spectacular. We were a short walk away from the Basilica, Doge's Palace, the Rialto bridge, etc. Negatives: Unfortunately, we were notified 12 hours prior to our arrival that the air conditioning wasn't working. When we arrived, they let us know that a mechanic would be coming the next day with a piece to fix it. They gave us the option to find another hotel for no cancellation fee, or we could stay for a discount. We chose to stay thinking that since the weather would be cooler, it wouldn't be too bad to have 1 warmer night. However, the mechanic never came to fix the air conditioning so it did not work for our whole stay. This resulted in several mosquito bites as the only way to cool the room at all was to open the windows. At check out, we were offered a 30% discount which the hotel initiated and dealt with on our behalf. The room did not feel very secure. The lock mechanism on the door was broken and could be easily pushed in with a shove. Also, the shower nozzle continuously sprayed water out of the shower unless you were holding it. The top of the shower attachment was held together by tape, and the plastic lip on the bottom of the glass didn't keep water in at all.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Our room had no AC and they didn't fix it and couldn't move us til 3rd night - the bed was like a concrete slab - seriously! Bugs in shower and mold in new room bath. Old upholstery and carpet so not clean! Manager not around and would not do anything for this expensive 3 day stay except offer bottle of cheap wine and bigger room last night. Do not stay here!

We recently celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary 14-17th May. What a great hotel we chose. Our room was lovely with lots of nice little extras and a direct view with a balcony over the canal, we got to sit and listen to the singing gondalier drivers and see the most wonderful sights. The location was excellent literally under 10 mins walk from St Marks Square water taxi stop (we took the public one from the airport) the breakfast was great, with a lovely continental selection and even eggs and bacon for hubby ! All of the staff were so helpful, kind and spoke excellent English (which was very good of them as we'd not made nearly enough effort to learn Italian). We wouldn't hesitate to book this hotel again. Loved it

This hotel was PERFECT!!! The view from my window was so amazing that I couldn’t even go to sleep because I just wanted to keep looking out. The window opens up to the most beautiful view and sounds. You an watch the gondolas go by right by your window. The whole hotel is beautifully designed and the staff is so welcoming and charming from the minute you walk in to the minute you leave. The breakfast was beautiful and plentiful with lots of great choices. I will definitely be back to this hotel again. My only suggestion is to be aware that for Americans the plugs are kind of old and not all of them work well with current adapters, but that is just a heads up, it wasn’t a big deal at all.
