I love this hotel so much. I told everyone, this is what I want from a hotel when I’m in Italy! Beautiful entry/lobby. Clean, well appointed room. I did have the balcony room, which was just luxury to sit out there and enjoy a coffee. The garden space also offers quiet space to breathe. This is right in the city center, so everything is walkable. I wish I would have gotten there Friday as intended, because Friday night right at the corner is so much action! Food, drinks, fun, and then the quiet space of the hotel. They have a small but well-appointed bar. And the staff and I worked hard to come up with a signature cocktail. It definitely requires Amaro. Plus the restaurant in the ground floor has recently opened and I had a lovely traditional dish. I will make it a point to stay here anytime I am back! As a business traveler, this was a welcome break, but as a leisure traveler this is a gem!

The Staff where 10/10. Perfect service and very nice attitude! But the Suit we hade where under all standards. The bed was hard as a table, and pillows you could of kill somebody with…to hard. The overall condition of the room is very bad. But again the staff and service, - flawless!

Rooms are really rough and some times mouldy smelling. Recommend making sure you don't get a room with carpet. Maybe some rooms are updated but the two I saw were one star rating..

This room was reserved for our niece, who decided to stay an extra night. The hotel staff were very kind, and found a suitable room right away. She said that her room was very comfortable, and very much enjoyed the breakfast.

The staff were all so kind and friendly, but our first room had an issue with the smoke alarm, which blinked a light intermittently all night. The staff were very kind and upgraded our room, but unfortunately, the carpet was very dirty and reeked of mildew. Otherwise, the rooms were exceptionally clean, the beds very comfortable, the mini bar stocked with plenty of water (and coca cola/snacks), and the breakfast was phenomenal. Overall, we would recommend this hotel, but would suggest a bit of renovations in the rooms that still have carpeting. Also, the common areas could use a sprucing-up of the walls, because they have visible dirt. We realize that it’s an historic and incredibly beautiful building, but it wouldn’t take much to make it feel more appealing. Lastly, the restaurant wasn’t open while we were there, and it would have been nice to have known that prior to our stay. Kudos to the staff. All were very kind, especially the young man at the front desk with the glasses, and the valets.

Our stay at the Phi Hotel was simply outstanding, exceeding our expectations in every way. The staff at the front desk were exceptionally welcoming and efficient, making our check-in seamless and pleasant. Our rooms, were spacious, impeccably clean, and beautifully appointed with minimalist decor and high-quality furnishings. The bed was remarkably comfortable, and the provided toiletries and linens were luxurious

We arrived early for 3pm check in and were able to stow our bags. We booked a second room for a friend travelling with us and they were right next door. Beautiful graceful 17th century cardinal’s palace, lovingly preserved. Rooms comfortable, we had a window opening on to a courtyard. AC which we switched off at night. Very quiet at night - unlike other places I have stayed where recycling of bottles seems to happen at 2am. Bathroom has bidet as standard (should be standard everywhere!). Fantastic hot and cold breakfast served buffet style with table on the terrace outside. Water, juice and tea/coffee available 24hrly in the lobby.Staff friendly and helpful. Very well situated 5 minute walk from main Modena piazza, 2 minutes from opera house and close to restaurants. 18 minute walk from railway station. Lovely route to green park for jogging behind hotel. Would definitely stay again.
