Great location, great place to relax in the sun, exceeded our expectations

This hotel was a great place to stay and met/exceeded our expectations. We had read previous reviews that suggested there may have been some problems with this hotel and wasn't at 5 star standard. In my opinion considering where you are, Albania, this hotel is extremely good. There were a few minor things such as a few of the finishing touches and some general wear and tear on outdoor furniture that yes could be improved, but also you're not staying, or paying for the most glamourous hotel possible in the middle of London, expectation should be tempered to the reality. The reality, the staff were all super friendly and very welcoming and always extremely happy to help out with anything. There were a couple of minor issues with our room such as some towels not replenished for example however a simple trip to the desk and this was resolved with no issue. Some of the sun lounges were a bit marked and frayed around the edges, but that's what you have towels for, and they out outdoor furniture, they are going to experience wear and tear. The main thing was there was no shortage of lounges both around the pool and down by the beach. The breakfast exceeded our expectations as it was a full hot breakfast with lots of choice as well as cereal, bread and fresh fruit, coffee's could also be ordered at the bar included as part of breakfast which was great. All in all we had a great time, the hotel was exactly what we wanted, a great place to relax and chill by the pool and beach, a 15 minute walk down to the main strip and friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend you pick this accommodation.

The initial preparation of our room I think they were running a bit late that day, so in order to get our room ready on time they missed a couple of things, however as stated a quick trip to reception fixed this. Also the built in hair dryer stopped working, however again a tip to reception and they were happy to provide a replacement for the rest of our stay

Was good but I feel like the hotel could make some improvements.

The staff were some of the most amazing people I’ve met they were so attentive and really did go above and beyond! The location was great and some of facilities like the pool!

The breakfast every morning was cold and the spa isn’t really a spa it’s just a jacuzzi and steam room.

Wonderful location. Loved the beach and pools and sea view room with balcony gave a fabulous view of the bay. Staff, particularly the reception staff were very friendly and efficient.

Disappointing stay

The room was gorgeous, we had a suite, view stunning, beds comfortable.

The sunbeds around the pool were disgusting, every single one was covered in black mould. The staff are very lazy they play on their phones all-day instead of picking up the litter off the beach, or taking the covers off the sunbed to wash them. They also didn't have a lot of items on the menu, so we chose to eat out everyday. The towels for the pool and beach are old and tatty, they need replacing. Breakfast was extremely poor for the price of the hotel. The owners/ managers should take a trip over to Corfu and have a look at the breakfast offerings in the hotels there. They're trying to be 5* but the poolside/ beach side and breakfast offering is 2*. The decking is broken in many places with nails sticking up. The toilets by the pool don't lock and have no toilet roll. They have a long long way to go.

Fantastic stay in Albania (do not make the assumption you are in Miam Hiltoni!)

Please read before booking! If you book this hotel, make sure to get sea view room! The view from any floor to Corfu island and the bay is exeptional. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Yes we did find that the hairdryer was broken but it was replaced in 5 minutes. Just in case you read reviews how this is not a luxury hotel, it is. It is in Albanian standard. Comparing this hotel to Miami Hilton is not appropriate. Be aware that there is music by the pool and it can get loud but i liked the playlist and so did 60year olds who were there with us. If you are disabled you will have a hard time hoing dowhill to the hotel but this is so everywhere by the mediterranean coast. You can reach the hotel with wheelchair with help and you can go to beach area and use the lift also. Parking your car on the -1 floor is an experience. If you have driven a car before you will not be intimidated. I would like to thank Marko eho made our stay exceptional. There are lots of Karen comments for this hotel that i could bring out that arent realistic.

Fantastischer Aufenthalt

We stayed about 4 nights at San Angelo and I can highly recommend this hotel. It offers so many extras: private parking, a private beach, two pools, and very nice, spotless rooms. I honestly cannot understand the negative reviews, as everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. At the pool, you can enjoy drinks and also order food, which made the stay even more relaxing. The location is about a 30-minute walk from the Saranda promenade, and there are plenty of shops around the hotel. Overall, it was a fantastic stay!

Love the interiors of the hotel, the reception staff were so friendly . We had a beautiful view from our balcony. Short walk down to the main part of sarande .

We arrived to a pool party and the music was loud all day , I never saw any other reviews about how much of a party the hotel was . Maybe I didn't look enough but yes it was more of a young person's hotel in my opinion . We had to sunbathe at the back end of the beach to try and have some quiet as we'd had a long journey travelling that day. Also very strange we were told the spa was a steam room sauna etc and the lady said we could go use it , we went down there was non of that just an empty room with wires sticking out a jacuzzi .. and an unfinished spa basically we couldn't use it at all . I assume it's a newly done hotel and not quite finished yet.

Pleasant stay, although amenities were really basic for what’s considered a luxury hotel

The pool area was nice with nice bar area and adequate sun beds, lovely private beach with lovely views. Staff were extremely lovely and friendly.

Room was quite small and for the size of the room the bed was a little bit of a hazard. No kettle in room, no coffee provided. Breakfast was very basic, found the one coffee per guest policy during breakfast odd, further coffees were chargeable. No duvets (bed sheet provided to use as a blanket) carpark borderline dangerous to get in and out.

The people who work there. Everyone was so accommodating, friendly and professional. The facilities and amenities come in next. The beachfront was beautiful and the pool was the right length size if you want to practice laps. An added bonus was the spa, would really recommend getting a massage there after a long day. The road getting out to the main street is an uphill but nothing that can’t be walked. Restaurants and a supermarket are within 2 minutes walk. Best location. Also, special mention to these people: Caroline, Helen, Samuel, Obed, Sulley, Yaro and Tana. All of you are amazing at what you do! Thank you for making our stay worthwhile!

Great facility, has potential - management needs work

Thought the hotel location and amenities were very nice. The rooms were very modern and the balconies had great views. The pool and beach areas were very nicely done. Structurally this hotel could be amazing, but our experience was really tainted by subpar service/reception-management. If a result of timing i.e. visiting earlier in the season, then they don't care as much / aren't prepared - but I think that's unfair and unacceptable.

We arrived after check-in time and rooms still weren't ready. Asked reception for info about coastline boat tours/charters, was told they weren't allowed in the city yet in the season - saw multiple boats going out and signage marketing boat tours around the city. One morning, we sat in the front chairs/beds of the beach, then had families with multiple young children show up on the beach in front of us. This was especially frustrating and disappointing since there was signage around the beach stating "private, no children", and we paid for an adults-only experience that was not upheld. Escalated to reception who said she would take care of it - nothing was done, no staff even showed up. When sitting down at the beach, there was not any on-going wait service/rounds. Staff hung out by the pool bar and you had to walk to flag them / approach them for service (this is highly abnormal for Albanian beach bars in my experience). On our last day, we needed early departure and went down for breakfast at start time (7am) - it had not been prepared and we had to wait around which delayed our travel plans. At no point could we figure out who was in charge when we needed to speak with staff. Reception desk was often left empty, sometimes couldn't tell who employees were.

Parking in the basement was very difficult, It drops really steep. You can get in, but it’s difficult to get out if the car is front wheel drive because of how steep it is. My tires were ruined because of this.

Stylish hotel with a beautiful pool area and a very nice private beach club. Breakfast is included in the rate and was really good. The parking garage is also free of charge. Supermarkets and restaurants are in walking-distance. All in all we enjoyed our stay but service could have been better and the hotel seems not to be completely finished yet (although it opened in 2024).

The hotel is said to be an adults-only hotel but during our stay there were kids playing in the pool every day -probably the kids from the hotel staff… As it was one of the main reasons why we choose this hotel, it was quite disappointing! Rooms are very small. Hardly space to put your suitcases down and our bathroom was a pain. No chance to take a shower without flooding the whole bathroom as there was no glass wall or curtain -it was really the worst hotel bathroom ever! And as the rooms can not be locked from the inside, be aware housekeeping walks into your room at 7:30pm in the evening -while you are having a shower and altough the “Do not disturb”-sign is turned on -this happened to us and was really akward… A steam room and jacuzzi is offered free of charge. Sounds good at first BUT while sitting in there you can enjoy a view into the parking garage -like what?! Bathrooms in the lobby were very dirrty during the whole stay.

The view

We had an extremely disappointing experience during our stay at this hotel. We were deceived and did not receive the room we initially reserved. Attempts were made to appease us with offers of an "upgrade" or by blaming "booking.com issues." Marko, who claimed to be a supervisor, was exceptionally RUDE and nearly escorted us out. His unprofessional behavior was shocking. In addition, the hotel's 5-star rating is undeserved. Expectations of staff dressed in formal uniforms were unmet, and there were several issues: Strong cigarette odor in the room. Breakfast was not served on time and, when served, was cold and substandard. Service was lacking; our request for coffee was overlooked. Absence of a desk in the room. No television in the bedroom. Air conditioning did not adequately serve the bedroom, taking too long to cool. Trash cans in the room were unsuitable. Coffee kit placed too high for easy access. Shower gel dispenser was inconveniently high. Unable to turn off the terrace lights. Front desk was constantly busy, making communication difficult. Underground parking was problematic with a steep and narrow entrance, leading most cars to park outside in a limited area. No railing on the stairs, raising safety concerns. Overall, this hotel did not meet any of my expectations for a quality stay.

The property was clean, loved the inside looks. It was welcoming. Staff were welcoming and had good customer service. They were quite helpful.

If possible having individual irons and ironing boards in each room. Having a non slippery step ladder by the jacuzzi for shorter people to have access to get in & out. Breakfast- to add baked beans on their menu 😁. If possible Having coffee and breakfast tea as they only had flavoured tea. In shower room to have a Shower Caddy for guest to put their personal soaps, facial wash etc. Also if it’s possible in future to have dinner served. To separate smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms.

We had a nice stay - would definitely come back.

The room was nice (it would have been even better to have a room with a sea view). Breakfast is also possible outside by the pool. They have 2 large pools with plenty of sun loungers and direct access to the beach. The location is fine, as there is a very nice walk towards the city center and lots of restaurants, bars, etc.

The breakfast is very basic, which didn't bother me as much as the fact that the food was cold (eggs, sausages, etc.). Poorly maintained warmth. This issue was a bit strange: every 20-30 minutes the power in our room would go out, and we had to remove the card and reinsert it for it to work again for another 20-30 minutes. Since we only stayed for 2 nights, we didn't pay too much attention to it. The parking garage is quite narrow.

The view is five star, the rest of the hotel is 3 star at best.

The only good thing about this hotel was the view, we were given an upgrade to a sea view on arrival and thankfully we were due to the view being the only good part of the stay. Booked a five star hotel for a five star experience and was honestly shocked that all the amenities were closed on arrival. No bar open the whole time and when I asked about having two bottled beers from the bar fridge I had to serve myself. A lot of construction work going on during our stay made the outside space noisy to use. Multiple sun-beds broken or mouldy cushions. I booked this hotel with the premise of bars, pools, buffet breakfast and none of this occurred. No music round the pool, it felt like a ghost town in the hotel. Our shower started leaking through the ceiling when in use on the last day. The breakfast really disappointed myself as I love a buffet breakfast which was advertised when I booked it and I ended up every morning with a plate that looked like a child’s packed lunch for school (sliced ham -singular slice, two slices of cheese, some bread, biscuits, fried egg, mini sausage). If this was a three star hotel we booked it would have met expectations however, the price tag and details are five star which sadly it did not live up to. It really troubles me how polar opposite some of the reviews are during the same period we stayed and the only thing that can explain this would be fake reviews bumping the positive numbers.

San Angelo stay

The property was absolutely beautiful we initially planned to stay for two nights but fell in-love with our room, the view and the beach so we extended our stay for another two nights. The staff were absolutely fantastic and helpful The only disappointment was the breakfast, it was limited and repetitive however because we came during their off season I predict it’s probably a lot better during their peak seasons. Overall it was an enjoyable stay

I had a great experience at this hotel, thanks to the extremely nice and accommodating staff. They were always willing to help and made us feel welcome. The hotel's amenities are impressive, and I think they're best utilized during the summer season when the hotel is likely to be bustling with activity. The breakfast was a mixed bag - while it was filling and we could ask for extras, the options were limited and the same every day. I'm not sure if this changes during the summer, but it was decent nonetheless. One thing that stood out to me was the hotel's focus on aesthetics, which I think overshadowed comfort in some areas. The design is sleek and modern, earning it a 10/10 in my book. However, the bathroom was a letdown - it was tiny, and the shower had a persistent leak. Stunning hotel

Great hotel, the manager Angelo is absolutely fabulous. We upgraded when we got there to a sea view room with multiple balconies and it was so worth it - the views from the rooms are stunning. The private beach is lovely and quiet and the pool area has music and djs with excellent sushi and well-priced drinks. We will be returning!
