Close to FMG Stadium

It's close to FMG Stadium so very handy if hoing to a game. The unit was a surprise, stayed before where we only had a room and ensuite, this time it was a full apartment. Well equipped.

They only have a duvet, it's so hot at night a sheet would of been handy.

A hrrible place, NEVER AGAIN

The lcation was close to 2 supermarkets and the CBD

We had booked at this place for three weeks, a long time to stay in a place that is terrible. The web site said the place had a kitchen. It had a stove, very old. The oven was very old too had a dirty roasting tray in it, which was swimming with someones roast, and fat. There insufficient plates for my husband and I and we had to request them. There was only one pillow each and we are elderly and need two pillows each when we sit up in bed. So we had to request them. The place when we entered smelt terrible, yuk. There was no toilet brush so had to request one. We went to use the cutlery to find some of them were dirty and I had to wash them. In the three weeks were were there we had no less than 6 guests, separate from each other, ask how to get into their appartment. Apart from the fact some had not been sent their code, the keypads play up and are difficult to get the code right. If you try too many times and fail, you are then locked out. You have to ring the manager and get her remotely to fix things. There is no reception. You have to ring the manager all the time. The whole place is old, patched up and repatched, very poorly painted, and only one electric plug to use three appliances. So we had to keep unplugging the kettle to use the toaster, then unplug to use the microwave and then unplug again to use the kettle.

The room size is great, very homely, and having motion sensing cameras on the carpark made all my anxiety disappear It is so close to everything, food, things to do, shopping etc the check-in and check-out is completely "service free", meaning there isn't any interaction with the hosts which I loved, I just want to find my room, get in, and knock out I do have to apologise for taking so long to pack and get out for the check-out time

It's not to do with the accommodation or the host, but the residents in the room next to us had 3 particular men who hung outside our door several times throughout the night, but we just played aggressive dog barking on one phone and chain sounds on another lmao, didn't see them again

Grim

The windows have non-transparent curtains, so sitting inside is like being in a cell. There’s no outlook from the unit I stayed in but still it felt grim and claustrophobic.

It was great for the time being!

I liked how there were enough rooms for my family. And it was very easy to find the property.

There were some people smoking dope downstairs & around the neighbourhood so not very good for kids to be around.

Handy

It was a fair price the age, quality, no frills of the accommodation. The fridge and iron worked, although the iron leaked water during use. The beds were comfy and clean. Handy location for where we needed to go.

It appears to be a holiday rental amongst other apartments that people live in. There is a laundry tub outside our room that tenants were using late in the evening for some reason. Ants were crawling all over the floor when we arrived, with no sign of treatment around to manage them - we had to go around and sqish them all. One mirror in the bathroom is not enough - a mirror in each bedroom would be helpful.

Worst place we have stayed in across the whole of NZ.

The bed was reasonably comfortable. The shower was ok.

We could hear everything the occupants upstairs were doing. This includes walking across the floor, going to the toilet, coughing up his lungs and the full on fighting, arguing, swearing, banging of doors that woke us up at 1.30 am. Was very scary and did not feel at all safe. Was also damp smelling and not very pleasant. We were due to stay 3 nights but decided to leave after the fight. Booked elsewhere at 2am. Would not stay there again for free.

Gaining access to the room wasn’t easy, I had let her I would the room code WhatsApp msg or emailed me but that didn’t happen. If you didn’t have your own transportation it would be difficult to get to.

Convenient stay for few nights.

It was conveniently close to the center, but in a quiet location. We visited at the very start of the season, so there was always free parking spot. We were given free upgrade to a room with a kitchen, which was great. We were given the code over message in booking app, so the checkin and checkout was fully self-service. Woolworths was quite near by car, which was convenient.

The walls were quite thin and we could hear the neighbors. There were noticeable mold spots in some places in the bathroom, but nothing that would stop us from using it or give us ick. During the stay we saw it gets very humid quite easily so that might be the cause.

Ideal for the rugby

Very close to the Waikato Stadium - we were there for the All Blacks v France game - and also near supermarket, café and bar. Ideal position and easy to get to from the Waikato Expressway. The apartment had cooking facilities (although a little sparse on cutlery and crockery) and a laundry, one bedroom with a double bed and two singles in the shared area, all clean and comfortable.

The kitchen area was a little dated and a few more big knives (bread knife, carving knife) and smaller plates would have been handy. The entry was remote - sent a code by messenger - so we didn't actually see any staff.

Cheap and cheerful

The bed was comfortable, and the heatpump/ air conditioner, a blessing! Excellent parking area. We would stay again if those things were remedied. Excellent communication from Vivian.

The bedding was a bit small for the queen sized bed. King sized bedding would be better. A mink blanket or similar would be nice, and spare pillows. A heater in the bathroom would be good to use in winter, 1 degrees is pretty cold! The catch on the door of flat 1 is loose, so getting the combination correct, was a bit hit and miss. There was a biscuit under the bed too.

Good space, good value for money. Very convenient to stadium where I was working.

A few more utensils/basic equipment in the kitchen would have been handy - eg large bowls, more than one pot, vegetable peeler. Also separate food scraps and recycling bins.

Very clean apartment

Unit was very clean, spotless. Beds were comfortable. Had full kitchen with everything you need. Practically next to Waikato Stadium, great to be so close for the big games. Owner communication excellent.

First day Friday on arrival: No fault of the Owners but we were surrounded by noisey guests stomping up and down the stairs due to rooms above us. Loud talking and music from guests next to us. I had to tell a guy who was sitting in his car directly outside our room window listening to his rap music on loud, to either move his car or turn it off or at least down. Was so annoying, contemplated moving out. Second day: I booked a room at another hotel for my 22 yr old daughter to go stay at so she could finish her assignment due by Monday. I stayed where I was, the louder guests had left so was a bit quieter. We were in Hamilton the weekend only to spend time with a dear friend very sick in hospital.

Overall an awesome stay for Field Days 2025 thank you Vivian.

Loved arriving to milk and coffee after a 5 hour drive and wasn't expecting it because, well it's an apartment block not a hotel... So very clean on arrival so we left it that way too. Great communication from Vivian. Lights from the Stadium almost next door were easily blocked by the blackout curtain. Location is exceptional - 3 blocks from town without street or City noise. Such a peaceful street.

Only one parking issue on the last night. I agree that if units each have one reserved space (ABCD) and the last is the free-for-all then all would have been roses and sunshine.
