Spacious apartment a 35 minute walk from Bologna centre

The apartment is on the 4th floor and is not overlooked. It has a garage. The beds had comfortable mattresses and the linen was of good quality. Kitchen reasonably well equipped enough to cook meals. Plenty of cutlery and crockery. Dining table in the kitchen and another in the dining room. The WiFi was fast. There is vast storage space for clothes, plenty of hangers and spare pillows and blankets. There is a good supermarket within 500m. Bus stops close by, walking distance to hilltop covered walkways and mausoleum. Some restaurants close by but most closed because it’s August. 15 mins in a taxi from airport. It was spacious. Air conditioning was good for half the week - 4 in total. There is seating for 4 in the lounge, two seats being bean bags which we found to be very comfortable but to note in case there are four people who this wouldn’t suit.

A lot to say here unfortunately. We spent a week with one guest flying in from the UK. We travel for five months a year and have an average of 50 accommodations booked. We stay in many places for a week at a time. We expect what is listed. So, dive right in - there are not “two full bathrooms”. There is one full bathroom between the two bedrooms. The other at the opposite end of the apartment is a “powder room” in that it has a toilet and basin (also washing machine). We are almost always supplied with basics such as oil. Apparently this isn’t allowed in Italy according to the owner, but in other places we have had minimum oil, vinegar etc., and some provided everything including eggs and milk. So this was unusual. For a week we would expect two sets of towels and at least two spare toilet rolls. We had one used roll and two leftover rolls mostly used. The toilet cistern would not stop so all night you could hear it through the wall. The view is not overlooked by anyone else but it is a view that includes a four lane road, a hospital and large industrial factory. The said road kept us awake, traffic all night and day and rushing to get through traffic lights, so we all found it very noisy - bins being emptied etc., it was not quiet for us but if you come from a noisy city or town you may not notice it. No seats on the balcony but not really a place to sit and relax. There were air conditioning units in kitchen and bedrooms. The lounge one was built in and on day four we noticed a bad smell, it got progressively worse so we switched off the air conditioner and we realised that was the issue. I’m sure that will be fixed.

Our host was very kind and responsive - she even found a place for us to watch the women’s euro cup semifinal! (Italy was playing)

Having to leave keys in apartment after we left and forgetting that we needed them to get out of the garage. Our host reminded us and we still forgot! Was a bit stressful. Thankfully the host’s father was in town and freed our car…
