It was a lovely place to stay for a couple of days. Clean lodge in a quiet location. Would definitely come back again

The area around the hot tub would benefit from some decking and a cover for falling leaves/ rain

My friend and i stayed there (lodge 7) from Friday to Saturday, and it turned into a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I woke up to actual bedbugs crawling on the bed and my belongings — plus blood spots and live bugs moving around. This wasn’t a “maybe” or a mix-up; it was a full-on infestation! We started calling the emergency contact at 7 a.m. — the number they proudly provide for “emergency .” No answer. Not at 7. Not at 8. Someone finally picked up at 9 a.m., over 2 hours later. At that point, calling it an emergency line is… optimistic. When staff eventually turned up and later emailed us, we were told their team checked the rooms and “found no bedbugs.” Hearing that felt like being straight-up gaslit, especially while we were holding clear photos and videos of the bugs. This doesn’t inspire confidence in how seriously they take guest safety! Because of the infestation, we had to throw away nearly all of our belongings on the spot — clothes, personal items, food, drinks, everything. We couldn’t risk bringing anything home. The financial hit was huge, and none of it was reimbursed! My friend received a refund for the stay, so cant fault that part of the service but let’s be honest: that doesn’t even scratch the surface of the stress, trauma, disruption, and the cost of replacing everything we had to leave behind. Based on what we experienced — the bugs, the nonexistent emergency response, and there was no evidence whatsoever that any extermination was carried out— I do not believe this place is being properly inspected or treated. If anything, it feels like the issues are being downplayed rather than fixed. In My Opinion- For your own sanity, safety, and your belongings: stay away from this lodge until they prove they’ve actually handled the problem and can demonstrate that a thorough, professional extermination was done.

Some of property was clean however there was thick dust on bedside tables , skirting boards were dirty , mold all round bath and toilet wasn’t particularly clean , two air fresheners were in living room to disguise dog smells I presume which we ended up having to put outside as they triggered asthmatic symptoms for myself , paintwork poor , lots of chips on doors , couch is also broken which caused back pain for my partner who spent most of the break sitting on a dining chair , I felt perhaps because this was a dog friendly cabin it’s not been maintained properly

features were amazing, very cosy and everything you needed for a relaxing stay.

i emailed and tried to call as we could only use the hot tub for a few hours as there was a wasps nest that stopped us being able to use at all on the 2nd day which was disappointing. no one contacted me back after trying to get in touch.

A loved the whole lay out it was so spacious their were good places to walk the dog

The hot tub a was really looking forward too but we never got to enjoy it as their were a lot of wasp every time we went in they were just everywhere

Great wee stay. Local location, perfect for a wee getaway.

Lodges could do with a big TLC, cobwebs etc on windows.

The lodge was perfect in itself, providing 2 bedrooms so we were able to bring my disabled son as accessibility was pretty good. We enjoyed the hot tub and decking.. the stay in itself was peaceful.

The cleanliness was absolutely diabolical. This actually made me think twice about staying. Dog hairs everywhere when we arrived we had no dog with us. The table and chair you sit to eat were covered also the sofa was covered. There was still toothpaste from the last visitors on the tap and mirror in the bathroom. I ended up getting my own cleaning supplies and did a once over myself as the cleaner was not coming until the morning and I could not sleep in the conditions knowing there was dog hairs everywhere. On the cleaner arriving the next morning I was shocked at being faced with the straight up truth when she told me she knew she hadn’t cleaned it properly that the day before she was just really tired so she didn’t do all the cleaning. That really really had me questioning what sort of service was being offered when a colleague of the owner was telling me she knew the conditions we were handed this lodge in. That I feel was extremely unprofessional and embarrassing.

The property has potential to be an amazing place to stay. It’s a quiet and lovely area, the property feels very private. It was a good size for a family of 4. The hot tub was great. The staff and owner are great. When I arrived, I was concerned about how clean the property was. The site manager came to see me straight away and the next day the property was cleaned.

The property is slightly run down and needs a bit of tlc. For the price I paid, I expected a bit of a higher standard. However, it looks like they are trying to do this with a new kitchen and I could see work happening outside. Overall, I would stay here again but not for the amount I paid to stay for 3 nights.
