It's a nice pleasant hotel with lovely thoughtful staff. Rooms are clean and perfect for a night's stay. You can take your dog which is fab and they are allowed to go into the restaurant with you. When we visited there were quite a number of dogs so it is quite a place for dog owners and there is a nice area outside for walkies. Thoroughly recommend! I am disabled and use a walker and access is good and there is a parking spot directly in front of he hotel. I think this was our 4th visit. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of menu choices. Our waiter remembered us from two visits last year. I had forgotten our cotonoodle dog's dinners and she was given a sausage to make do till we got some.

Really the only issue is that it is beginning to look tired with remedial painting work required especially on wood work and doors. Some tables need re varnished some carpets require to be vacuumed right up to the wall and pictures and fitments including the lovely wall wood cladding dusted correctly. I had a few issues with the food in that you never should serve the end heel part of the pate which has extra outside skin/rhind? ( sorry can't find a better word) on it and same with the actual end of the haggis at breakfast. Steak was nice if a bit fatty. Keep the breakfast bar topped up please! (sweet tooth).

Nice location, pleasant walks by the river nearby. Good parking. Large room. Comfortable bed.

Some parts of the hotel were a bit shabby or dirty. The carpet in the lift was filthy and despite me telling the receptionist it was not vacuumed. The ensuite was in need of updating. The basin was blocked. Rather old shower curtain over the bath. Cracks in tiling etc. Stains on seats in bedroom. No cushions. Remote control broken. Took a while to find bar and restaurant staff.

The property us in great location, very peaceful in the countryside but also close to major road network, short trip into Perth and small villages within walking distance

The decor and furnishings were a bit tired; chair in the bedroom had torn upholstery and needs renewed. The main stair carpet was in need of hoovering. The room was quite cramped and did not match the photos provided on the website which made the rooms look deceptively bigger

It was quite dusty - I took photos of cobwebs and the dusty phone etc and my tv wasn’t working, however the staff instantly came and fixed it, so the staff were on the ball. £9.50 for a glass of vino ouch

Comfortable for an overnight and very good value for dinner BNB.

The food was excellent both at dinner and at breakfast. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and we had robes and slippers. It was good value for what we pain]d.

It’s a bit run down and tired. The stair carpet needed a good vacuum, it looked like it hadn’t been done for days. The curtain in the dining room was hanging off the rail. It’s a pity because I’m sure it wouldn’t take much to do the things we saw that were below par. It has a lot of potential.

Goodbye HuntingTower Hotel

Surrounds pleasant although no facilities other than woodland/ riverside walks. Staff friendly and attentive. Hotel and rooms comfortably warm.

Told on arrival they were overbooked so placed in a room external to main building. 2nd stay we've had where there was issue with booking ( both via Booking.com). Shower dangerous, couldn't use. "Very hot water" warning sticker on taps but thermostatic shower valve faulty & only discharged near-boiling water. Maintenance man would attend next morning (after we left). Dining tables were cleaned by staff but surfaces remained sticky. Noticed by other diners. Food was good but only told after ordering that preferred main course was unavailable - "had been very popular the night before". Wasn't thrilled by other choices. Generally the hotel looked tatty, in severe need of paint internally & externally. Hotel doesn't rate 4 stars. Don't know why they call it "boutique "! Won't be back.

Relaxing but put off by grubby surroundings

Setting is lovely. Staff were always cheerful and helpful. Bed was clean and comfortable. Food was OK.

The hotel and accommodation was grubby and very much needed a proper clean. Carpets in public areas in need of a good clean or replacement. Some floor tiles in public areas are broken. Window surrounds were very dirty with flaking paintwork. Just generally looks scruffy

A Grand Hotel in need of a Grand Comeback

A beautiful old fashioned building near Perth

A beautiful hotel — sadly left looking a little neglected, like a grand old lady in need of a proper makeover. It boasts a splendid veranda, but our room came with an ancient key, lights that had to be switched off one by one (wasting energy if you forget), a TV straight from the last century, and a shower curtain from 1990 that really should meet its glass replacement. To be fair, the place still carries the good vibes of its former glory, and breakfast was of good quality. The only real drama? My request for a single espresso at breakfast turned into a public announcement that my room had “no credit” — apparently what they call prepaid. Nothing like feeling you’ve tried to smuggle a cappuccino past the guards. A card reader at the table? Pure science fiction.

I expected a tired hotel but there is no excuse for lack of maintenance/cleanliness. No apologies.

The location and setting

The hotel is tired, poorly maintained and unclean. The stairs up to my room had dirty carpets and wallpaper hanging off the walls. The Bedside rug was filthy and badly stained. The window frames were dirty and black with mould. Breakfast plentiful but poor quality compared with similarly priced hotels. Misrepresented as a boutique hotel

Beautiful setting 15 mins outside Perth

The location and the setting, beautiful grounds n gardens. Very peaceful. Staff were great, friendly, professional. Variety in menus, dinner options good and great to have a restaurant for dinner in the hotel. Good variety of breakfast options, good value. Lots of space for parking

The first hotel in Scotland I stayed in with a bath and there was no plug! (Night manager found one in another room and brought it to me, but it didn't really fit tightly) and no hot water in the shower the next morning

Our weekend break

The location was good, giving easy access to the major road network and so to nearby tourist attractions and destinations. The hotel was clean and comfortable with polite friendly and obliging staff. The breakfast was first class with a good choice of both hot cooked selection and cold options.

From our room, we could hear a faint humming from the kitchens extraction unit which sparked into life at around 6am each morning.
