We received a lovely welcome after a long drive. Lovely surprise upgrade to a fabulous room. The building and fittings are all in keeping and well maintained. I really loved the smell in the common areas. I loved the paneling, staircase and the room fittings. The bed was huge and so comfy with loads of pillows! The bathroom was clean and well maintained...so glad i brought bubble bath withme the roll top bath was amazing. We drive up after work so missed out on evening meal. The breakfast was plentiful and lovely and freshly made Fx

I didn't like the fact that the hotel doesn't expect cash . Only card. This is not acceptable as they are refusing legal tender. I understand that they don't need to count cash at the end of the day,but that's not a good enough reason. It is the only reason I wouldn't stay again. This should be stated on their website no cash except.😞😞😞

I loved the fact that having paid extra for a dog in the room we were provided with a dog bed and water bowl , the location was also great for dog walking with lovely grounds and a nearby riverside walk.
The staff were friendly and helpful providing a bath matt for our bath and spare key when needed.
The limited Menu was the same each night

Breakfast was good - grounds were attractive - room was large - building quiet at night
Room was tired and needed repairs in the details ( cracked tile in bathroom) no water one morning and took a while to fix
