Manoir des Basses Rivières

Nous avons adoré notre séjour au Manoir des Basses Rivières ! Tout y est beau, harmonieux et bien pensé. Nous avons pu nous détendre dans un cadre très raffiné, depuis les jardins, la piscine, jusqu’à notre chambre parfaitement décorée. Accueil chaleureux et amical de nos hôtes, y compris de Titus, le superbe lévrier. Nous reviendrons au Manoir sans aucun doute!

Ik reis zowel profeesioneel als prive enorm veel over de hele wereld , maar dit is een ongewoon mooie ontdekking. Wat een rust en mooie locatie , beter dan gelijk welk 5 sterren hotel.

A beautiful property with exceptional interiors.

We didn't meet the owner but instead were greeted by the delightful housekeeper who sadly didn't speak any English but we got by with a little GCSE French! Check in was not the times advertised on the site and as a brief stop over travelling through France in the heatwave was a little frustrating. Unfortunately, we had to leave too early for what I am sure would have been a delicious breakfast. The car park is across the main road from the property entrance and driveway, in a private but hidden field, which was not ideal for us, especially as we had asked about secure parking for our sports car so take this into account if needed. Otherwise, we wish we had longer to enjoy the stunning gardens and swimming pool and fantastic location close to Tours.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation, with unique and intentional decoration as well as thoughtful inclusion of amenities to ensure a comfortable stay (e.g. a booklet in room explaining what's available, from pool items like sunscreen to wine opener to a nice hair dryer, etc). Nice coffee setup in room as well as honors system bar/snacks in the kitchen. The grounds are so peaceful and beautiful. Bed was comfy, room was lovely. Martine, the housekeeper, let me in and while I don't speak French and she doesn't speak English, we mostly got by.

Only minor things. The main is that based on reviews, I thought it was more of a real B&B where the owners are present, more of an experience, and also that you could go in the manor to see it. It was closed up (I was staying in an outbuilding). The listing seemed to suggest a fitness room, coffee shop, etc. but I didn't see this...I was the only person staying here at the time. Ultimately I still had a wonderful stay, just good to know from an expectations standpoint. Also, I could not figure out how to get the overhead light in the bathroom to turn off (all the others turned off) so I had to wear a sleeping mask to be able to sleep in my bedroom as the light came through.
