TREFF APARTMENTS Füssen

Location was very good in Füssen once we found it and we were so glad we decided to stay a few nights as not only is the town beautiful but with all the transportation options nearby, it was great for trips to nearby areas like Munich. Apartment had lots of towels (& a towel warmer), and decent beds. The host was not fluent in English (NOT a complaint, I promise; I just wish the German I'd learned had been a bit more extensive as that would have helped.) Still, he was very friendly and quick to try to help in any way he could. He also showed us a central lobby area we had access to via key (we were in an apartment off to the side so we didn't really utilize it at first - but should have!) with lots of complimentary tea and even good instant coffee, an electric kettle, and handy things like cups, lids, paper towels and plastic utensils. After we stayed at a few other places around Germany later on, I saw more clearly how well-stocked, thoughtful, and generous this was and even sought out this instant coffee and bought some myself. I felt the apartments were very secure/safe and can even attest that the neighbors next door (residents with a very friendly cat, Moritz) are quite nice! Füssen is a bit touristy and a little more expensive than some places in Germany but honestly we loved it so much that we long to return anyway; the town has so much character! There is even a discount grocery store nearby (a Penny that is below street level when you walk towards the tourist info center) that is super handy. We enjoyed window shopping, exploring the town (walk ALL around and visit different shops and restaurants as much as you can!), and making sure to really embrace the area. Munich isn't far and though Neuschwanstein is deemed "very touristy", we loved exploring all around it and going on the tour. I wish we'd had more time to spend to visit the nearby yellow castle (Hohenschwangau) and the beautiful lake/valley.

Apple Maps lead us near but not exactly TO the location; I'd definitely download some maps and/or pics of exactly how to get there beforehand - especially if you're not fluent or super familiar with the area. I can say that it's not too bad/far to walk to the apartments from the train station - even with luggage - if you're fairly fit (though cobblestones + luggage can be loud!) Address of where to pick up keys or where apartment is even weren't easy to find for us but we did get there after dark so it was harder to find the Treff Café (to get keys) than it would have been during daylight hours. I will say the room we stayed in was a little smaller than I thought it would be from pics for my family of 4 but honestly, even so, we all remember this place fondly; it was just cozy and had what we needed. (Note: the shower is a bit akward and slippery to enter/exit but with care is ok.) As the street is not busy with car traffic or even too many pedestrians, it was fairly quiet *most* of the time - but I can say that there is a hotel with a restaurant (I believe) that gets all of it's deliveries to the back (facing our window) starting early in the morning and this got a bit noisy at times rather early (mabye moreso because we were sleeping with the windows open.) Perhaps a noise machine or earplugs could have helped? It wasn't something that ruined our trip but boy did it wake us up 2-3 days around 6:30-7am!

Man muss etwa eine halbe Stunde vorher Bescheid geben, wann man kommt. Dann trifft man sich in einem Cafe, welches um die Ecke ist und bekommt den Schlüssel ausgehändigt und die Unterkunft gezeigt. Das Zimmer hatte zwei große Betten, einen Kühlschrank, Wasser, TV, Föhn, Handtücher, Schrank, Nachtschränkchen und im Flur stand ein Wasserkocher, Toilettenpapier, Zewa, Kaffee und Tee. Frühstücken kann man auch vor der Unterkunft (Tische + Stühle vorhanden) oder eben im Flur. Bad war neu und sauber. In wenigen Minuten war man in der Stadtmitte. Ca. 3 Minuten vom Bahnhof entfernt.

Die Zimmernachbarn (Engländer oder Amerikaner) waren sehr laut. Auch über uns hat man jeden Abend gehört wie, wahrscheinlich kleine Kinder, die ganze Zeit rumgelaufen sind. Wir waren 4 Nächte da, es wurde in der Zeit nicht das Zimmer gereinigt und es gab keine neuen Handtücher.

Non sono appartamenti, ma semplici stanze con bagno. L'alloggio n.2 ha una parete con vetrata direttamente sulla strada, per cui è impossibile tenere le tende aperte e serve tenere la luce accesa anche durante il giorno.
