Duomo Luxury Florence

When you have the word Luxury in your name you put yourself on a pedestal that you have to live up to. This accommodation is very good but it has a few downsides as well. The location is brilliant, literally a minute's walk from the Duomo. The room is lovely and very large, as is the bathroom. The bed is both large and comfortable. The staff are polite and very helpful.

On the downside is something so important that I can't believe that when they recently designed this room, that they didn't consider it. There are almost no electric sockets. There's a couple of light voltage ones next to the bed but they are very resistant to plugging in an adapter. You really have to force it very hard. And unless you've brought a multi gang extension lead with you, you won't be able to fit two adapters into these sockets. The only socket for an iron or hairdryer is next to the sink in the bathroom. We asked the reception staff where the sockets were in the bedroom and they were as dumfounded as us. So when it came to ironing a shirt we had to balance this tiny ironing board (you know, the type that usually sits on top of a table) on the bathroom basin so we could plug in the iron. In this world where everyone has a phone, a tablet and even a PC this is a crazy design fault. I'd avoid the Anna suite because the reception desk is right outside your door and it can be noisy. Oh, and there's only 4 coat hangers. See what I mean about calling yourself luxury?

Location is amazing. The rooftop is outstanding. We had trouble getting the room cool. The staff helped us get lost luggage to our room.

Could not get the room cool. Staff was onsite a limited amount. But were great when we got them.

Location could not have been better. We felt very safe there during our stay. Room was nice and clean.

Gentlemen at the front desk offered no solutions for a lack of air conditioning and in fact said it’s not his fault. Drains in shower drained very slow and caused issues. Bc it’s set up more like an Airbnb than a hotel there were no amenities and the staff worked abbreviated hours.

The room was spacious and clean. It had everything you may need.

The building is very old, the entrance is terrible, the likf is old. it was very difficult to get there, and it was terryfing to reach the hotel. very deppressing
