Really lovely welcoming staff and nice food

Lovely pub, lovely village and surroundings. Very nice room and welcome.

The only thing was I had nowhere to leave my key as the pub wasn’t open when I left at 7.15am but not a big issue

Room was clean and comfortable. Good clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Pub food was excellent and reasonably priced, nothing fancy but good size helping. Breakfast was fantastic value. Staff were were also very helpful and friendly, especially Sam who gave us the low down on longnor and surroundings as well as making sure our stay was comfortable.

I have stopped here twice before and as i'm a professional photographer I chose the Cheshire Cheese for its location to the surrounding countryside which is outstanding. My room was comfortable and clean and as requested, on the ground floor. The bed is to hard for me but as I travel a lot I bring along my own cushions to compensate for this as sleep is important to me.

with one exception the staff weren't that welcoming which is strange when your are a paying guest and have stopped here several times before. As mentioned the bed is to hard but I always travel with cushions to soften the mattress. Food serving times are pretty limited so you have to plan ahead if you wish to eat there. The restaurant was chilly unless you were near the log fire as the radiators were off and the temperature was not much above freezing. I wrapped up well to compensate but a couple of other guests did mention it to me. The toilet in my room was difficult to flush so needs sorting.
