Warm, welcoming and very comfortable.

Full of original character and charm yet sensitively decorated and with modern very comfortable furnishings. Friendly and welcoming and nicely busy bar with warm log fire and an excellent range of drinks. Pleasant restaurant and varied choice of meals on the menu. Delicious food.

A lovely mini break to beat the January blues

Lovely little location. Plenty parking in the village. Well equipped cosy room with powerful shower. Dog friendly rooms and pub. Staff lovely and friendly!

Walls were a bit thin you could hear next door but it didn’t cause us any issues really.

Lovely hotel in great location.

Location, friendly welcoming staff, delicious food. Spacious room with a fridge and a lovely tray of bits n pieces a resident might have forgotten.

Some cobwebs in the room and bathroom( was winter I guess, so little used room). Was also quite chilly…16* is just a bit chilly for us. The tv is on the small side and a long way from the bed. A final note… we did not appreciate two dog bowls being the room, as we do not like dogs at all, nor being sat in the restaurant between two dogs, however well behaved, with their owners.

Perfect stay in Derbyshire in a comfortable, friendly pub with top notch hosts.

Brilliant stay in wonderful Hartington. Easy parking, friendly welcome, large room with sitting area, coffee making facilities, excellent large power shower and really good restaurant area.

Although the hotel did not do breakfasts the cafe right next door did a marvellous full English with 10% off for residents.

Really enjoyable stay and will return!

Made very welcome at early and very helpful check in. Enjoyed our evening meals at the pub with good choice and great food. Whole pub dog friendly which was great for us. Hartington an ideal location for walks and with good bus service as required. Fridge in room really appreciated with good supply of tea and coffee - many thanks.

Lovely, stylish and comfortable accommodation. Friendly staff. No breakfast but there is a great cafe next door and tbh we prefer the flexibility to have a lie in and not be driven by a timetable. Thoughtful additions in the room. Good quality refreshments and fresh milk in fridge. We’ll definitely be back.

Amazing location in the centre of Derbyshire.

Location was amazing. Good decoration in the room.

Felt that the bed was small, but it was far too hot. Not sure why, but certainly some heat coming from the fridge area. Only one small window could be opened. We did have a fab stay and the room was a good size, with a big shower room.

The Devonshire arms was a lovely place to stay for the evening. The staff were great and very friendly. And the food was superb. We would stop here again.

The room had a half eaten chew stick on the floor when we got to the room . But that didn’t put us off was superb apart from that

Very nice

The room was large and very comfortable, with arm chairs, a variety of hot drink options and a bath. Check in was easy and the staff at the pub were friendly.

This is made clear and not the Devinshire’s fault, but there is no breakfast and we were encouraged to go to the cafe next door- the staff were unfriendly and the food was disappointing. There is a shop over the road that opens at 8 and sells coffee and snacks which was much nicer though.

Stayed during the summer heatwave and could have done with a fan and sheet as the room was very warm . Room was in general very clean but need to clear away cobwebs higher up .

The bedrooms were nice, its a lovely village v. Quiet in the evenings.

We were told after we arrived that Sunday lunch was not available and the menu choices were much more limited than on the website. Breakfast was not provided and generally the standard of food was poor.

Terrible will return to the Manifold Inn just down the road ,on this visit had no rooms

Staff unhelpfull,unfriendly, no explanation about how to enter the premises if pub was closed.It turned out there was a key lock with code.waited outside until someone wanted to enter. Wall to adjoining room must have been made of paper at one time (6.30a.m)I thought our neighbours had joined us!!!

An unexpectedly good place to stay, in gorgeous countryside and we will return.

We booked two rooms. They were both above our level of expectation. Great decor, lots of extra touches and very comfortable and clean.. The host and his Mum were very helpful and friendly and the food was very good.

It would have been great if they had done breakfast, but maybe in the future? They directed us to the Farm Shop 3 mins away, or the cafe next door. We had an excellent breakfast at the farm shop.

Great place & location but more attention needed with the cleaning.

Liked the location, room decor, friendly staff, food, fresh milk for T&C and the convenient free parking. Disliked the thin walls that meant noises carried from the adjoining rooms, the room wasn’t very clean and there were no pillow protectors on the pillows. (One had a giant tea stain on the end.)
