This was a mini break with my Mum and sister. We shared a family room. We visited Chatsworth & Haddon Hall Christmas

The hotel is in a beautiful rural area but still very central to drive around Derbyshire.

A lovely stay.

Beautiful location. A lovely room. The bathroom was amazing with gorgeous bath and rain shower. The food is excellent, portions far too big for me but they do cater for serious walkers. Range of beers and wines is good too. The staff are attentive and on the ball.

Mattress and pillow a little too soft. A couple of the room and bathroom corners needed a little bit of attention.

Great stay, a very well run inn.

Great location, friendly staff, restaurant and bar were great for us (3 blokes hiking), and breakfast was lovely. Ample free parking. Good WiFi. We stayed in a self contained annex which was spacious with its own kitchen and lounge. Good value for money. Would happily stay again, thank you.

The self contained annex has a double bedroom with ensuite and a twin bedroom. Toilet and shower for the twin is downstairs.

Excellent breakfast, good quality sausage/bacon/black pudding. Plenty of good fresh coffee. Bar friendly and excellently kept ales.

Restaurant menu heavily into mashed potato and chunky chips, but really nice homemade Bakewell Tart.

We would recommend and will stay again when. we are in the area. This is our 3rd or 4th visit to the area. in the area.

Very friendly, helpful staff. We were late booking so had 2 different rooms during our 3 night stay. Beds very comfortable. Good bathrooms. Nice food. No complaints. Plenty parking. It is very near to both beautiful and rugged countryside as well as a popular village.

Brilliant place to stay. Staff worked so hard and were very busy but still remained friendly and helpful. Beautiful location and friendly vibe to the place.

Was close to manifold valley for walks

Room smelt of dog and bathroom was dirty. Hair visibly on the plughole and dog hair on bathroom floor. Does generally felt dirty. I was a solo female so felt vulnerable complaining.... Breakfast was also very very small really not worth the money I paid

Perfect stay in a lovely Inn in a fantastic location

Perfectly located in the Peaks. The included breakfast was great. The king room was huge and felt very luxurious, with a brand new bathroom and huge bed. A babbling brook outside our window helped get us off to sleep!

We enjoyed staying at the cottage and the meal in the Pub was lovely!

It had character

I lost a pair of socks! and found some one else’s hat and socks under the dresser in one of the rooms.we didn’t complain just was odd… plus oven didn’t work..didn’t matter as we dined out (instructions for fire … if it worked.. no existent) and info pack needs updating.

What a wonderful part of the countryside!

I didn’t have breakfast. I can’t think why. Maybe I’d eaten enough the night before, when I had a good meal in the restaurant, watching Wimbledon! However, I did ask for some bread in the morning and was very grateful and delighted to be given some slices with which I made sandwiches for the next days.

It was expensive, especially for the sort of walking holiday I was undertaking.but I couldn’t find anywhere cheaper to stay! I also had not appreciated how far the Manifold was from Hartington Village (1.7 miles) and the walk across the fields (rather than the main road) was not simple as some paths no longer exist!

The bed was exceptionally comfortable with a nice ensuite shower room. The breakfast was very generous and so was the evening meal.

A visit rather marred somewhat by noisy neighbours.

Lovely location, good standard of accommodation, very friendly staff, good food in the restaurant but one night spoiled by a very loud / late disco in the field next door which was not mentioned when we booked. Kept our child awake into the small hours. It would have been good to have that information before booking. But would return as long as no discos planned!
