Brilliant pub with rooms

Amazing food. Do go out of your way to visit here. Cannot recommend both the evening meal and breakfast more highly. All home cooked, real food. Exceeded our expectations. Clean, comfortable room with lovely bed. Family and dog friendly too.

Lovely cosy room & friendly staff

Lovely place to stay in the countryside, cosy and clean room, bed was super comfy and had Netflix in the room too! Great that it had a separate door to access the car park which meant we didn’t have to go through the pub with luggage. Highly recommend.

Lovely stay

Bed was super comfy and the room was well stocked, the cookies were a nice touch. The staff were lovely and dinner in the pub was really nice. We stayed for halloween and the pumpkin trail in the village was really cute!

It was a bit annoying that you could see into other people's rooms/they could see into yours but there's not much can be done about that, and there's curtains! The bathroom has a really weird smell but actually facilities were good.

Cosy retreat in stunning surroundings

The friendliness of the staff and the quality of their service really make this place and every morsel of food was delicious. The breakfast sets you up really well for a day of walking. The room was very comfortable and we appreciated the homely touches, the fresh milk and cookies and the array of tea bags to choose from.

Expensive for a basic pub stay.

Location. High quality evening meal and great beer

While cooked breakfast was very good, rest of breakfast was limited. No fresh or tinned fruit, no yoghurt. Only cornflakes for cereal and small amount of bread. No croissants or cakes. Very limited selection overall. Room was fine but small for the price.

A brilliant stay - ticked every box and more

Really friendly staff, superb food using locally grown and locally sourced ingredients and very comfortable bed. Lots of lovely touches throughout the pub including homemade cookies on arrival in to our room. It was a very relaxed atmosphere in a traditional pub that was sympathetically restored to retain it's character.

This place is situated in a quiet pretty village.

Good choice of breakfast, food was excellent. The staff was happy to provide us with our dietary needs.

Comfortable stay in traditional pub with excellent food.

Room clean and comfortable with nice teas and freshly ground coffee. Cooked breakfast was fantastic, good range of choices and accompanied by usual selection of cereals, toast. We also ate in the pub the night before which was definitely at the top end of pub meals I've had. There is a pub garden to sit out in amongst all the fresh veggies and herbs grown for the kitchen.

Breakfast was excellent with a comprehensive menu, and dinner in the restaurant was superb - a very talented chef! Location in a peaceful, well-kept village was great for local walks. The room, whilst small, was comfortable and clean, with tea and coffee-making facilities, and a good shower.

Being very critical, the pillows were slightly lumpy.

Beautifully located, mix of old pub style and contemporary rooms. Staff welcoming and friendly m. Excellent food and nice small touches such as fresh milk in the room and home made cookies. Organic veg from the garden!

Wonderful stay, everything excellent

Beautiful location, friendly, efficient staff. The room was clean, lovely view, bed very comfortable. We ate there both nights, food was excellent with good choice of menu. The breakfast was absolutely delicious too. I will certainly be back again to explore the beautiful countryside soon and look forward tp staying again. Thank you

Location is beautiful. Very clean comfortable room with plenty of tea and coffee and a rather lovely homemade cookie. Very comfortable bed and nice warm room. Staff very friendly and polite and the food is excellent. Hannah and Matt deserve to do very well, every attention to detail. Thank you so much for a brilliant stay!

Perfect weekend get away near amazing walks with great food

The village is idyllic. Quitter and well situated. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The pub is old school and welcoming. The room is modern and comfortable - some uneven surfaces but adds to the charm and everything is 100% modern (well appointed wet room etc). Food was to die for. Matt butchered on site from local animals. Amazing

The WiFi needs fixing or upgrading. Great for a get away but not ideal these days but not a deal breaker

A wonderfully cosy pub in a beautiful location. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming and made our stay really special. Wide selection of drinks at the bar and the food, both for dinner and for breakfast, was exceptional.

The location is beautiful and the food in the pub is surprisingly good. We actually went back for lunch after we checked out.

The carpet in the hallway is a bit dirty and the bathroom is a bit small.

Lovely room, nice bed, very nice quiet village, and we were made feeling very welcome with yummy fresh chocolate cookies in the room. The breakfast was very good, we really enjoyed our stay!
