Apart from the heating issue the room was comfortable and cleam which is most important .

Location was perfect for the purpose of my trip . The locals in the pub downstairs made me feel very welcome .

The heating in the room didnt seem to come on until after I got up in the morning and was off by the time I got back at night . A minor irritation .

Kate was very helpful and an excellent host. Everything you could possibly want in the kitchen and more besides.

A gem in the heart of Stoke

This was a return visit and we were just as impressed. Great rooms, lovely pub and friendly staff. The bed was amazingly comfy and shower great. The communal kitchenette is really handy and you can eat your food or a takeaway in the pub. A major bonus is it’s just across the road from London Road oatcakes. It’s also within walking distance of superb currys and other great pubs including the Glebe.

Comfortable and value for money

The pub is a local so there was some noise but this wasn't overly loud or disturbing in any way. The room was compact but really nicely furnished. It was very clean.There is a kitchen to use if needed. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Excellent place to stay

When you first arrive you see a local pub on a corner nothing special..But when you go upstairs to your accommodation WOW!! You know the people who run this place take a lot of time and pride in their business. It was spotless and the beds are so comfortable Everthing you need is at hand and the staff are so helpful.100% recommend. If I could give a score of 11 out off 10 I would. Well done to everyone involved in this place.

No breakfast included but use of an excellent kitchen was available to prepare your own. Recommendation for options of where to get breakfast was useful.

Overall pleasant.

I was greeted by my host who was very polite and showed me to my room which was very clean and well decorated with coffee and tea making facilities. The bed was comfortable so I had a good nights sleep and the shared kitchen facilities were more than adequate.

A gem of a find - perfect for Alton Towers!

Everything - this was a little gem of a find - excellent value for money. It was warm clean and the lady we spoke to (Kate) was so helpful when we first got there. Even the pub downstairs with the music on a saturday night didn't disturb us. Fantastic place!

Absolutely great spot in a nice location. The staff were exceptional and the room was nice and warm when we arrived. There were also great ammenities in the shared kitchen which we weren't expecting. Everything was very well maintained and check in/check out was dead easy. Thank you!

Great host, Kate, who was very helpful. Had use of a kitchen which was a huge bonus. Everything was immaculate and good quality. Was nice to pop down to the pub below. Biscuits and homemade soft toy were a sweet touch

Lovely room above a quite excellent local pub

I love a room above a pub. Especially if both are great. And that applies here. Friendly staff, easy check in, a lovely clean and comfortable room and a fine pint of ale just downstairs. A short walk from the city centre, I would definitely stay again

It was hard to walk up the unexpected stairs with both of us being older and having bad kn

The staff who ran the hotel were very kind and extremely helpful. The hotel was clean except the smell of cigarette smoke that came up from the smoking area outside. The hotel was quiet even though there was pub on the ground floor.

We were not aware that we would have to go up stares to get to our room. We are 75 and 81 years old with bad knees but the owners/staff did take our bags up for us.

Fair stay but a bit noisy!

The room was clean, however the bed was uncomfortable and it was difficult to sleep well, also guests using the kitchen very late and being next to a road meant our sleep was disturbed, which is no fault of the owners. The bathroom sink wouldn’t drain properly, so we had to use the shower in the end, there were no staff there to speak to as it was at night time. Also the booking said it included a continental breakfast, but I received a message from the owners, stating breakfast wasn’t included but it was too late to cancel, so this needs to be much clearer during the booking process. All in all it was an ok stay, the place was clean and staff member was friendly, tea/coffee and biscuits were also provided and enjoyed. There was also a kitchen for guests to use freely.

Overall great location, spacious rooms and quite nice vibe

The room was very spacious, the pub below wasn't too noisy and overall there was some privacy. There was a kitchen too which was comfy. Overall clean and smelled nice. Comfy beds and renovated bathrooms.

Some part of the duvet sheets had a few stains in. They were washed but still it was not great to see.

The old furnitures were great and gave the room a valuable feeling that I did not expect.

The noise and exhaust from the street and the fact that the window did not really limit the noise that much as I expected (due to that fact that it are sliding Windows which never properly insulate).

Wasn't sure when we walked up because it's just normal looking pub,But when we entered the owner was so nice and well the room was pristine.Large very very clean,kettle etc.An shared kitchen if you want cook anything.After a walk round town we came back and the pub was full and everyone was nice and chatty..

Really good value for a nice room.

It has a really nice feel and the rooms had everything we needed. Although it felt quite far out, it was only a short walk to Starbucks for breakfast in the morning. There is a kitchen for self service breakfast if desired.
