HAKONE DOMA

The house itself is beautiful, spacious, and they really thought about all the little details. After traveling for so long, it was wonderful to arrive at a full kitchen stocked with grapes, eggs, bread, drinks, tea, and other thoughtful touches. The beds were like sleeping on clouds, with thick comforters and soft sheets. The bathtub was wonderful, and the massage chair was absolutely amazing! There’s also a nice little stream running next to the house. The location is fantastic, right across from the Hakone terminal and close to so many things to do. The Hakone Open-Air Museum became one of my favorite museums I’ve ever visited. We also loved the pirate ship cruise and highly recommend upgrading to first class. Box Burger was absolutely incredible as well. Overall, we really enjoyed Hakone and loved having the space and comforts of a house after staying in so many small hotel rooms throughout Japan.

The biggest downside was the amount of traffic directly in front of the house. It was much busier and noisier than we expected. The house is also across the street from the water rather than directly on it, so while you do have a water view, the road and traffic are between the house and the water.

the host of this beautiful villa was exceptionally forthcoming in all aspects to ensure we had a lovely and relaxing stay, including providing an extensive breakfast supply for our 3 night stay, a surprise cake for a special occasion and continued attention to ensure we were well! - thank you!

Hardly an issue considering the above, but location rather close to a fairly frequented road… that said, very conveniently situated for the Ropeway and pirate ship dock in 5 minute walk and parking available
