Hakone Hibarino hot spring hotel

Fantastic ryokan with lovely staff !

The only problem was with my TV which doesn’t have Netflix and co connected.

Exceeded expectations! Best hotel in Japan! The staff …. Wow! The staff treat you like royalty!!!! I was sad to leave. My wife and I planned our return trip on the bus leaving the hotel!

Limited food options at the hotel if you do not have restaurant reservations.

Beautiful property with such a luxury feel while being private and intimate feeling. Staff was amazing and super helpful with booking taxi’s and guiding on how to best see the sites. The rooms were spacious and the private onsen made it the perfect stay on a long trip with sore muscles.

We appreciated having a private onsen. The bed was very comfortable.

Location: very far away from everything in Hakone Car Service: Unlike other hotels, car service is available one way and we were supposed to figure out a way back on our own. Onsen: We were on the first floor, there was no light, there was water dripping everywhere from the ceiling over the onsen, the onsen was quite shallow. Restaurant: When we arrived they told us that we could not have dinner in the hotel without reservation even as hotel guests. They don’t provide room service either. Staff: 2 hours before our train in Odawara, there was no taxi willing to come to the hotel.. the staff could not provide a solution, advice or any help. They refused to help us by driving us with the hotel car(we were willing to pay), could not organise a taxi and left us at Gora to figure it out on our own. For the price we paid we were sorely disappointed 😕
