Very authentic. Everything was super clean and the onsen was amazing . We came with a baby and they were very accommodating . Our room was in front of a waterfall and it was incredibly peaceful
The food was not the highlight . I think it can be improved

One of the highlights of our trip has to be staying in Senkyoro, with the meals served right in our room in traditional ryokan fashion. We felt like royalty and the staff were incredible, and the food was delicious kaiseki.
The ryokan has been operating since the 1800s which was a great piece of history but that also meant some of the facilities needed some upgrades eg. The onsens were a little worn out.

Quietness. Big garden. Dining is good.
Public onsen is not open air. However you can pay to book your private one. Parking is not very convenient. Staff helps to park faraway so will need to request the key and car ahead of time.
