Quietness. Big garden. Dining is good.

Public onsen is not open air. However you can pay to book your private one. Parking is not very convenient. Staff helps to park faraway so will need to request the key and car ahead of time.

In such a beautiful area, I will definitely come back on my next trip!

Cannot beat the service and views

Facility definitely showed its age, but it wasn’t a huge negative

I had a brilliant time at Senkyoro, which is both luxurious and rooted in tradition. No temptation to overly modernise here, it's a fantastic and reliable look at true Japanese countryside living. Staff were brilliant, so attentive, and made a great job of popping into my room to set it up for the day / evening whilst I was out at the onsen / breakfast / dinner. Speaking of which both the outdoor and indoor onsens are excellent. Some western guests have mentioned the breakfast is not to their tastes, but you've got to understand that's just because the breakfast is so legitimately authentic. I would implore everyone to stay here. The location is also superb, particularly for getting the bus.
