The restaurant, the food, and the chef’s work were absolutely amazing.
The rooms could have been a bit warmer, and the hot water to the sink would have been appreciated.

Very comfortable bed and lovely deep bath. The choice at breakfast was excellent and the food was delicious. The historic house has been well restored and it was lovely to sit out in the garden with a drink on a warm evening.
We would have preferred a buffet-style breakfast. We had to wait quite a while for everything to be served, so it would have been great to be able to help ourselves to some things, like pastries, cereal, fruit while we waited for the cooked breakfast to arrive.

Attended a family event in the afternoon and stayed for 1 night. Beautiful historic building and grounds. All the staff we encountered were exceptionally friendly, welcoming and helpful. They upgraded our room to a suite at no extra cost. Room was stunning, spotlessly clean, very comfortable with an ENORMOUS bed. Top end coffee machine in room. Everything required was present. Communal areas were spacious and comfortable and every detail for a relaxing evening was thought of.
We had a light supper and it was the best Caesar salad I'd ever had!
Breakfast was also fabulous.
Can't think of a single negative!

Lovely location and setting. We were staying as we were attending a family wedding blessing just a few minutes drive away from hotel. Very characterful old building with lots of charm. Our Suite was very comfortable. Great bed etc. As temperatures were 30 plus degrees the day we checked in it did make the rooms in this old building warm. There was a free standing fan in the room which with the small windows open made the room temperature pleasant enough. I do think this small boutique hotel could do with investing in a quieter free standing air conditioning appliances. When you are paying £270 for a room you’d rather have a quieter form of cooling the room. We had a Nespresso Ventura coffee machine in our room but the pods that had been left did not fit the machine as you can only buy those pods online. The ones that were left out were the cheaper ones that you can purchase in shops and were compatible with the Nespresso machines in our relatives rooms. When I went down early morning to mention it to the staff they apologised and offered to make us coffee instead. I also went to get fresh cold milk from the night porter at 7am as the miniature fresh bottled milk in our room from checkin had no means of refrigerating hence come early morning it had slightly soured with the heat. These issues were largely linked to the extreme warm weather but hotel needs to consider strategies to address these minor points.
The staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good. We found our room to be very clean. I think some of the communal areas could do with some attention for example the lift doesn’t give a great first impression as it’s very dated and not in keeping with the building. As the lift door opens the gaps on the floor that allows the doors to open were quite dirty with a build up of grime.

Room good. Staff all very friendly.
Clearly aimed at events and not totally geared for residents. Slightly ageing feel. Shower very poor. Definitely overpriced at £200.

Staff were all really nice. And, the location was beautiful and very tranquil.
Breakfast could’ve been better quality. The shower was an electric one that wasn’t great.

It was tidy and clean.Very good customer service too
The windows do not open fully and the toilet took a long time to flush and make a lot of noise that you can hear other rooms flashing their toilets too.
