Elegant Clausen 2BR Near Luxembourg Old Town

The flat was clean with a modern equipped kitchen and bathroom and lovely views as promised by the website. There is a washing machine which we were able to use and a rack for quickly drying clothes on the balcony. Complimentary tea/coffee, toiletries and dishwasher and washing machine tablets were much appreciated. It was peaceful yet with a few bars next door and within easy walking distance of the Bock casemates and the city centre (about 15-20 minutes) although I believe public transport is free to use and there is a bus stop in front of the building. It's a really fantastic flat if you don't need somewhere to leave a car for a few days and can put up with gentle city bustle noise. We were also very grateful for the fans provided as the apartment does get hot in sunshine - you need to keep the blinds down and closed. They have obviously listened to previous reviews as this was done for our arrival.

I was led to believe from a video sent with the property instructions that there was a designated free parking space included. This turned out to be not true which made our arrival after a long journey somewhat stressful as the parking situation around that area is complex and expensive. When I phoned for help with locating the parking space the person on the end of the phone just kept repeating that the video sent was a glitch in the website, that there was no parking space, as stated on the main website, and that we should use the on-street parking which is free over night but not useable for a whole day. We did find a 24 hr car public park right next to the building at 2 euros an hour - expensive when you're staying 2 nights and days. Minor points - It was missing a tea towel for the kitchen and we would have found a chopping board helpful. The toaster tripped the mains electricity switch when we tried to use it. A little welcome folder with basic instructions about where to take rubbish; how to use the coffee machine etc. would be useful. I know this is provided electronically but useful to have hard copies to save you having to fish the information out on your phone each time. We couldn't figure out how to use the coffee machine despite the pods provided. Balcony could have done with a sweep and a wipe down to remove cobwebs.

Ruim en schoon

De dakramen van de tweede slaapkamer konden niet worden verduisterd. Hierdoor was het erg licht in de slaapkamer.
