We didn’t stay overnight due to inadequate accommodation

We were delighted that Guttenbrun is finally open for guests. It is a Mallnitz symbol, has lots of character and it is in an absolutely gorgeous location. We were already in Mallnitz for the last 10 days ( we travel to Mallnitz every year for about 2 weeks in the winter and 2 weeks in the summer) when we decided to stay for a night there. In the end we couldn’t stay due to the reasons below.

The place is still under construction and the room that was presented to us was completely depleted of its original charm. But this was the least of our worries. In the room it is a wide sink with a mirror next to the bed (not visible in any photos from the booking site). The toilet is not connected with the room, it is next to the lobby, at the main floor, only one for all the guests, including those in the restaurant. The shower is across the room. It is not written anywhere on the booking site that you will rent a room without a bathroom. Also, the price, absolutely the same with the one at any other good guest house in Mallnitz, doesn’t indicate that there’s anything wrong. Moreover, in those 5 minutes we spent to see the room, the construction noise from the next room was very loud. In the hallway there’s construction dust. The smell of fresh paint is still strong but the windows were open. Being an unusual cold summer (about 10-12degrees outside during the day ) it’s not possible to sleep with the windows open. We decided to go to another guest house for our last night even though we ended up paying twice. The owners didn’t seem interested that we are not going to stay, even smiled saying that they just couldn’t add a bathroom and they are still redoing the rooms.

Gostitelja sta postregla obilen zajtrk. Vsako jutro sta vprašala, če bi želeli še kaj posebnega, da nam lahko to tudi pripravita. Namesitev ima tudi posebno sobo za hrambo športne opreme (smuči) z sušilcem za pancarje in čevlje za tek na smučah

Vse je bilo OK, kot smo si predstavljali pred prihodom.

Gerne immer wieder!

Tolles Frühstück, großartige Lage in abgeschiedener Bergnatur trotz fußläufiger Nähe zum Ort Mallnitz, nette, bodenständige Gastgeber, kleine, aber exzellente Küche. Der Alpengasthof ist gemütlich und die perfekte Mitte zwischen rustikaler Berghüttenromantik und Feriendomizil. Im Winter lockt eine gut gespurte Langlaufloipe direkt vor dem Eingang: Skier anschnallen und loslaufen!

Posizione un po' defilata e fuori mano. Riguardo la colazione ed il menù serale si sarebbe potuto fare un po' meglio. Si è sentita tanto la mancanza di una TV e di un bagno in camera

Super schöner Gasthof inmitten der Alpen

Der Gasthof Gutenbrunn ist wunderschön gelegen, inmitten eines Tales in unmittelbarere Nähe zu Mallnitz. Die Besitzer sind sehr nett und wir konnten auch kurzfristig noch eine Nacht dazu buchen. Essen ist sehr lecker und der Kaiserschmarrn der Beste den wir je hatten. Zimmer sind sehr schön und Bett sehr bequem. Richtige Tolle Location für Wintersportler: Vor dem Gasthof gibt es eine täglich gespurte Langlauf Loipe (sehr empfehlenswert) und viele Wandermöglichkeiten. Der Skilift Ankogel ist 10 min Fahrt und der Mölltaler Gletscher ca. 30 min Fahrt von der Unterkunft entfernt. Danke, wir kommen sicher wieder!

Traditioneller Alpengasthof mit sehr freundlichen Personal. Die Zimmer sind mit viel gutem Holz versehen

Hier konnte ich mich richtig fallen lassen und so sein wie ich bin. Ruhig, bodenständig ohne große Werbeflyer usw. Eine Kneipe mit Essen war auch mit drin. Zimmer und Bäder sind sehr gehoben aber trotzdem passend. Im Winter eine echte Empfehlung. Auffällig die liebevollen Details. Danke auch an den Tischler der dies alles gebaut hat.

Ganz ehrlich war es die beste Unterkunft in den Alpen! Die Lage ist einzigartig. Die Leute unaufdringlich aber dennoch interessiert:)

Hüttenfeeling mit Komfort.

Die idyllische Lage - umgeben von majestätischen Bergen, einem gluckernden Bach, frei herumlaufenden Kühen und Pferden . Man fühlt sich wie auf der Alm.

Die urig gemütliche Atmosphäre. Das sehr freundliche Personal und Dir nette Wirtin. Die ruhige Lage zum Ausruhen nach einer anstrengenden Radtour.

Heerlijk verblijf!

Het was heel fijn bij Gutenbrunn. De kamers zijn comfortabel, de eigenaren heel vriendelijk. We hebben lekker ontbeten en het avondeten was ook helemaal in orde. Gutenbrunn ligt net buiten Mallnitz, waardoor je het gevoel hebt de bergen voor jezelf te hebben. Nou ja, samen met de koeien en paarden die er vrij rondlopen. Prachtige omgeving, het is er heerlijk wandelen. Kortom: dikke aanrader!

Niks viel tegen, alles was aangenaam.

Wunderschöner Aufenthalt – leider viel zu kurz!

Ich war nur eine Nacht in diesem traumhaft gelegenen Gasthof, aber es hat sich angefühlt wie ein kleiner Urlaub. Umgeben von beeindruckenden Bergen, wilden Bächen und frei laufenden Pferden und Kühen – die Naturkulisse ist einfach atemberaubend. Das Zimmer war sehr schön, gemütlich und blitzsauber. Das Essen war super lecker, und die Gastgeber unglaublich herzlich und aufmerksam. fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Ich wäre gerne länger geblieben – ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen und Abschalten. Absolute Empfehlung!
