Good location, coffee facilities available in room (unusual but great to have), hostess very friendly. Comfy bed. Good location near station and shops.

The best ! Gem

It’s the best summer hotel ever It’s basic but when you are there it’s heaven Bed is super comfy The view on the balcony is right on a mountain river which is fantastic and you don’t hear any annoying sound . Only the river and mountains you see ! I was staying in a single room and I even continued my trip unfortunately for one day only because then it was fully booked ! No doubt it’s a gem Sonja is so nice host and their breakfast is yummy yummy Highly recommended!

The contact with the owner was fast when I got a delay by train. It was no problem that I came later and I had a great welcome. Sonja knows the names of her guests and will help you where she can.

Would stay here again

Our rooms are very comfortable and good size. We really like the breakfast, fresh and with many choice. The location was great for going up the mountain with the cable car. There are good restaurants near by as well.

The shower is very small; we are not big people but still had a hard time turning around in there. It would be nice if there is a kettle in the room. It was cold and we wanted some hot tea in the evening but was not possible.

The property is close to shops and city centre. The view from the balcony was outstanding. Free parking. The owners of the property were very friendly and helpful.

Good value for money

Everything! Small and very clean room with a balcony overlooking the river. Sonya is a very kind woman who helps everyone in any situation. The hotel is located 5' from the center, the ski lift and the thermal baths. For breakfast there was everything one needs. The internet worked well and everywhere in the hotel

Breakfast was so-so, it was Monday and perhaps that’s the reason there was not any fresh bread and ingredients. Check out was upsetting - we received the form to fill our details during breakfast as we were eating, they could have waited with that till afterwards. Payment is only with cash, no credit card, we didn’t know that and had to go to the bank to change euros..

i've been few times in Bad Gastein. From far, Pension Steinbacher is the perfect solution. It is very close to train station, cable station and Therme. Sonja is a great host.Extremely clean, very good breakfast !!! thank you again it was a perfect holiday for me.

Everything was just great - the location is perfect, just a short walk from the Stubnerkogelbahn lift, a skibus stop to other areas, supermarket, and train station. The hosts were very caring, attentive and helpful. Room was very clean, spacious, and had a nice balcony with lovely mountain views. Would highly recommend to anyone travelling for an active vacation!

I came back form a few days' hike, staying overnight at the chalet's dorms. The guesthouse seemed like a paradise, but the civilization still didn't strike too hard, with the stream right under my balcony, with Sonja being such a kind and helpful person, the breakfast excellent, with the town surrounded by forest-covered mountains.

Great location, quiet rooms, close to the station and city centre

Everything was perfect. The location is great, just a few steps from the station and Spar, but still in a quiet location. The room is spacy and has a large balcony and bathroom. Everything is quiet, because there's a steam under the window and trees, so you're few metres from the main road, but in a quiet place. Breakfast great - everything you could think of is there. Maps and books for Gastein valley available. Car parking possible - free of charge. And what was best - details - everything works in this place - doors aren't noisy, windows cutting the outside noise perfectly, toillet paper holder is just in the right top, the armchairs are just ok to sit down and read, lot's of light in the room. Sonja was perfect host and the cleanliness of all hotel places is 110%. Thank you very much for kindness during our accomodation.
